Have been here before and really enjoyed the atmosphere. However came back here with a grouP of friends for a catch up. We had brought BYO and were having a laugh as you do wen catching up with old friends and had the owner and his group of patrons giving us disgusting glares and acting terrible towards us. We may have been loud by we were outside and enjoying ourselves. Have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant before. Especially by the owner. Fair to say if you are wanting a catch up with a group of people over wine Keo Thai is not the place. They are much to uptight.

This was my first time to Keo Thai. The service was slow, and it’s almost like the staff had an attitude. I ordered the crispy chicken. It was anything but crispy chicken, more like fried with old oil. It wasn’t nice. The whole dish was bland and very small – yet it’s listed on the menu as a main. I was still hungry after it, so I looked at ordering an entre. When I enquired with the waiter about the entres I was surprised to hear him say to me, ‘To be honest, I wouldn’t order an entre – they are too small.’ I won’t be going back. Everything from service to quality of food was very disappointing.

Just had a meal there this past friday night with my family. The food was great when we got it. We were shown to our table and the the water and glasses came and that was the last of the service. We had to get up and go to the bar to order. We got up and went to the bar to order our mains when we had been sitting there an hour. No further service. We I mentioned this when paying the girl behind the counter said they were busy. We were inside so could see what was going on and the staff never looked over to our table to allow us to wave them over. What a shame the food is good, we won’t be going back.

Please Do Not Go to Keo Thai!! This resturaunt has become living proof of the greed and negativity that comes when some people take advantage of their own good fortune after a horrible disaster. The food was OK, but the service was Horrible!
The most horrible bit happened at the end of the night. When we went to pay, there was a small dispute as one of the dishes had a nasty bone in it (when there REALLY shouldnt have been one there… could have been dangeruous) and they were also not honoring some vouchers that we had so we vocalised these concerns without any aggression – the Manager who was dealing with us swore at us and said “I dont give a f*** if you never come here again, I dont f****** care if all of your friends dont come here again! Since the earthquake I have been sooooo F******* busy that i dont need your business!!”
As I said, the food was OK, but why would u want to pay money to someone who is strutting around with this attitude while half of christchurch doesnt even have a job, or a descent house to live in… let alone a thriving business!! Please boycott purely on the basis that people like him shouldnt be encouraged!!

I could easily go on to bag on this resturaunt and how the food took an hour to arrive and how the first persons meal arrived 20 mins before the last one showed up because they had lost his order… but i wont – this resturaunt does not deserve your business. Please dont give it to them.

I have just had my second meal at Keo Thai and WILL be going back. I had no problem with the booking and the staff were very friendly and knew their menu which allowed them to recommend courses. Try the Satay Vegetables, it’s 1st class. There is great surroundings and will be a starter for a meal in the courtyard in the summer. Well done.

Very disappointed with this restaurant.
The meal of 4 dishes all arrived within minutes and were very bland and the volume of sauce in each dish disguised the lack of meat and vegetable!
The lack of finesse by the waitress – our dishes were all stacked in front of us before removal and the decor added to our disappointment. We were very annoyed as we enticed to this restaurant by their advertisement on CTV. Would not recommend.
