the food was great i enjoy dining in and also takeaways are always good there usually isnt a verry long wait unless busy but understandable but the others saying about service it isnt a table service reastaurant its verry affordable and theres always enough for lunch the next day!!

This place is great. We went with the whole family which includes 3 young children. We were greeted straight away on arrival & given menus and pen & paper. We were allowed to choose our own table and quickly decided on our meals. My husband went to the bar to order & our drinks came almost immediately. Food came soon after and was great! Lovely & fresh with great favours.
As the kids were restless we didn’t stay too long. & were given containers to take home our left overs.
Would definitely recommend to others. Service came with a smile, very quick & high quality. Thank you for a great meal.

Great value. We could afford to take the whole family there for a birthday dinner celebration. Real fresh veges, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, courgette in generous helpings, not frozen ones. Friendly service even though it was busy on a Wednesday and really clean. Food served piping hot in generous helpings, and even enough for a lunch box for lunch tomorrow! I love it that the prices are great and the food quality is high. I like the ordering system of writing your order down yourself, so you don’t have staff hovering wondering if you’r ready to order and making you feel under pressure. Will definitely go back.

It wins the prize of being the WORST restaurant I’ve ever been to – its appalling! Its a glorified takeaway and in fact there are better takeaway places in Rangiora with better service. We went there to give the kids a nice experience of a Chinese restaurant. On entering the restaurant we stood there for at least 5 mins without anyone greeting us. Finally I went to the bar and told them I had a table booked. The solemn bar person directed me to, what must have been the maitre de, on approaching this person, I was asked “Table for?” without even looking at me. I explained I had a table booked etc. Then he just walked away leaving us standing there. Finally one of the Asian workers approached us and led us to a table giving us a piece of paper and pencil and telling us to write down what to order and take it to the Bar. We dutifully took our order to the bar and pay. The Bar Person was plain out rude! The food came very quickly and was very average. At the end we were given foam containers to scrape our leftovers into and leave. The night would have been more enjoyable going to the local takeaway and having it at home. There are some great restaurants in Rangiora who know the meaning of ‘service’ this definately is not one of them.

Wasn’t happy at all. For a start, me and my friend went in and spoke to one of the employees and asked if we could get the ‘rotating’ table and pay per head as it was a special occasion for a friend’s birthday and for the following Saturday night. We were asked how many people there would be, we said 4. She said yes thats fine but we usually only do the ‘per head set price’ for 6 or more people but if you pay the extra thats fine. We agreed as she said it would be only $5 extra per person. When we did arrive the following Saturday for our meal, and table that we had booked, we were told, no you are not at the rotating table because there is only 4 of you. Even though we spent ten minutes explaining we had been told otherwise. They told us they could do that at $10 extra a person but not on the rotating table as that was booked out already. Then they asked us who said we could do that? We pointed out the lady but she denied ever seeing us and saying that! My friend wanted to leave because she had wanted to do the whole ‘try a little from everyone’s plate’ experience. We decided to stay even though we weren’t happy. The place was absolutely packed full of people. It was soo crowded and soo noisy. It wasn’t like a restaurant atmosphere at all. It was off-putting but after getting nowhere with the staff, we decided we would take the table by the stairs which was the only one they had reserved for us. Well, where do i start? The service is absolutely shocking. Our order was taken straight away. And we waited… and waited…for our meals. One of my friend’s got her meal after about 30 minutes…. then we waited and waited some more…after my friend’s meal was cold and she was waiting for us to get our meals (the other three of us)… anyway, after another 15minutes my other friend got her meal..so here we are sitting and waiting and wondering why our two friends have their meals and the other two of us don’t – and by now its been over one hour and the first of our friend’s meal was cold but she was waiting for us to get our meal as she did’nt want to be rude and eat infront of us. Finally, we called the waiter over and complained. He assured us we’d have our meals soon and was very apologetic. (We realised later that they had completely forgotten us and our order of the other two meals) well…. another 20minutes later and us other two finally got our meals… absolutely shocking. We were all soo angry and we were about to walk out without paying a penny for any of the food. We had a few words to the waiter and requested a few bottle of wine and we got it. We ate our meals (would’ve been great had they been hot!) and left, vowing to never go back. Don’t visit if you are after great service. This restaurant is clearly better suited selling takeaways (which might i add was also disappointing that people collecting takeaways kept walking past us and out the side door with their food) I would recommend this place as a Takeaways only but would never dine in again.

This restaurant has really good food at reasonable prices. We had a sit down meal and the service was good,
the portions were very generous and the food was very tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that
loves chinese. We had drinks and wine at the table as well as dessert and the bill was very reasonable. Will be back again, worth the trip out there.

We frequent this restaurant every few weeks or so & yes we believe the table service could be slightly better but over looking this the meal is always lovely & nice fresh food Plenty of meat & good local people running it, & also it is good to have a meal that does not taste of false flavours & is more like a home cooked meal, a bit more table service from the bar would be great as well all in all very nice

Love the fact they can do takeaways too so we can always grab a quick bite to eat on the way home if we are rushed for time. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

we had high hopes for a new local restaurant & were really hoping for something tasty … however this is basically a take away with tables , ordering by numbers off the menu at the bar does not constitute a restaurant , food bland & tasteless, perhaps the most non Chinese environment I’ve ever experienced in a Chinese restaurant – sorry but we won’t be back !
