Went with a voucher and the food was tasty well cooked and a very good size portion. The staff relaxed and friendly we felt well looked after. The chocolate cake is divine, the only down side of that is the ice-cream on the side was not the best quite icy and not creamy. The only down side was the muck up with the booking, I had rang the office during the day for the booking and although they said they had gotten the book and written it down no record of my booking could be found. Luckily they still had tables that night so disaster avoided. But we still had a very pleasant dinner.

Sick of confirming details with staff at the Kingslander days before a Warriors game, turning up to the venue hours before hand, spending money on food & drinks and then finding out “it wont be shown” or “It wont have sound on” Get it right & if you can’t confirm then say so! Never going back…

This place is amazing, there is a rustic old look & feel about the place, however, it is welcoming. We went there for dinner, and were take upstairs to an intimate dining hall, where we were looked after by the same waiter, who was very attentive. There was a roaring hot out door fire on the deck for those who were out side having a couple of quiet drinks. We were seated and served our first drinks promptly, then our meal order was taken. We ordered a garlic bread to start, this was nice, crunch crust, with soft bread to bite through. I ordered a sirloin, medium rare with crispy fries and a fresh seasonal salad – Beautiful… and my partner had lambshanks, with kumara & potato hash, the shanks were huge and the meat just fell off the bone!! definilty will go back there.
It needs to be less posh and appeal to students a tad more as it is a student based area. i wouldn’t eat dinner there as it is quite expensive a quiet drink is less up stairs.
