I had visited at Kohinoor Indian Cuisine for nearly 4-5 times in past 3 months. I am die hard fan of its banquet. Its very well behaved service from the staff, fresh food and the best thing is when ever you go there you will find same environment with same great taste. Its my always 1st choice amongst all the other indian cuisines available.

I have been to many Indian Restaurants in NZ since 2002. The warmth we felt and the food we had at Kohinoor Indian Cuisine at the Old Albany Village was unique. The staff is well pleasing and made us feel at home. The menu was mouth watering and the food awesome. I liked the Peshwari Naan & Chicken Vindaloo was literally hot. The Mango chicken was too good that even our children could have it since it was not spicy. You need to really experience the dishes. I am sure those who had been there would definitely come back with their kith and kin. Just waiting for another event to get in there. Feel like having food made by your mother with lot of love and affection blended in……. The price of the dishes were reasonable and the quantity served was definitely worth for what we paid.

We were in a group of 10. The most popular dish was the Mango Chicken with Naan bread. This was exceptional.

The best Indian restaurant I have tried. I was recommended Kohinoor restaurant by friends, I was informed about the exceptional food and service. I visited this restaurant pre-Xmas and can say that i experienced the exceptional Indian flavors for myself. The restaurant was busy, I was impressed by efforts made by the staff to make us feel welcome. I food was delicious and the flavors of the curries were authentic. The restaurant was busy but every effort was made by the staff to make us feel welcome and comfortable. A must try restaurant and i can say that you will be back for more.

Absolutely by far the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten in or from, and I have been to MANY. The butter chicken is fantastic and the Naan bread is the best! especially the butter naan. I have read another review here and they mention the naan and the service were not very good. WTF!!! the service is exceptional! The best we have had in a long time in fact.I have eaten their food approx 6 times and am currently waiting for their delivery tonight.YUM! If you have not been there yet then you need to go there! Fantastic food, awesome. Truly an authentic Indian gastronomical experience, right from the tasty mango lassi to the yummy kulfi. Great service, neat and clean environment, affordable prices. Will definitely be visiting again.

I visited Kohinoor a few days ago with my friends and family and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food and the service I received. All my friends and relatives also loved the food, we’ll definitely be coming back soon.

I took my Mum here last night for her birthday.

We ordered vegetarian samosas as an entree, the vegetarian potato and spinach dish and a chicken dish as mains, garlic naan, the mango lassi (smoothie) to drink and shiraz wine.

Mum loved the samosas, I’d had nicer elsewhere.
She loved her main, I’d had nicer versions elsewhere.
We both loved the naan.
I didn’t like my drink but she loved her wine.
She is normally very fussy with Indian food and I’m normally content with whatever, so for her to like hers as much as she did was surprising.

The price was excellent as they had their $13 curry special that night but it was good throughout the menu too.

The atmosphere was pleasant, not very traditional Indian decor compared to others we have been to. Music was traditional though not to our taste.

Excellent, friendly staff, and very fast service. One of the waitors was very chatty to us while we were eating which was distracting. He asked my Mums age which shocked her a bit and when she asked him how old she looked, his answer was older than she actually is, luckily she doesn’t get offended easily.

At the end they turned the lights off and sung happy birthday to Mum and brought her some vanilla ice cream and mango sorbet-like stuff, with a candle on top which she thought was lovely but neither of us liked the taste.
On the way out we saw on the takeout menu it says free meal and dessert on your birthday *conditions apply* so we assumed we didn’t reach the conditions for a free meal.
I thought it was average but she thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had our first meal at Kohinoor restaurant last night and we’re already looking forward to the next. The service was excellent…friendly staff, who are keen to share their knowledge of the food and help make choices from the extensive range of choices. The food was to die for…this is quite honestly the best Indian food we’ve tasted, and we’ll definitely be back real soon.

The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Would recommend this Indian to anyone, been the best Indian food i have had for a long time, the Korma is absolutely devine as is the Butter Chicken.

I have rated the restaurant very highly as i have tasted the authentic Indian food specially Butter chicken,and the Tandoori platter that was served early was very tasty and the sweet mango Lassie in the end made the whole dinner very enjoyable and hence 5 points that the restaurant deserved keep up the good work and the uniqueness compared to other Indian restaurants oops i forgot to mention the Nan which were crispy too.

Kohinoor Indian Cuisine is such a delicious and delightful restaurant to dine in. I may not be Indian but the food was so tasty and extremely delicious it’s not like any other Indian restaurants. Also the environment and atmosphere was just beautiful, the colours and lighting in the restaurant sets a relaxing and calm vibe definitely a place to DINE FOR !!!

I happened to dine in Kohinoor with a group of people. There were enough varieties to suit the taste of each of us. The ambiance was pleasing, food was delicious, service was great and the prices seemed reasonable.

We’ve tried few different Indian restaurants recently and this one is clearly one of the best! The food is absolutely delicious!
