Went to Kyoto for a work dinner. Service was extremely average.
Waited long time for someone to acknowledge us. Once we ordered we started receiving food we didn’t order, however the waiting staff didn’t seem to understand (or care) we had the wrong food.
Also with half of the main meals coming out and waiting almost 30 mins for the other half was pretty frustrating.

Food was average, not much flavour.

Nice place but needs to lift its game. I won’t be going back.

We had a group of 12 booked in for an early dinner at Kyoto, when we arrived we were the only customers in the restaurant. It took a long time for drink orders to be taken then another long wait for drinks to be bought out. Entree’s were served after a while and were delicious, then a very long wait for mains. When they finally arrived they were all bought out at different times, 4 meals arrived without the rice. We were told that they had run out of rice and there was more cooking. Half an hour later still no rice, with no explanation and no contact with any staff for the remainder of the night. We were very disappointed as the food that we did receive was amazing but due to the poor customer service we will definitely not be returning to this restaurant and will be passing on our negative experience to others.

Went there for Dinner couple of days ago. Food was absolutely Fab. Got seated straight away. Staff were really friendly. Great atmosphere. Yes would I would defntly like to dine there again.

Kyoto attempted to serve frozen beef tataki to us. When this was brought to their attention, they then tried to say that it was normal to serve beef tataki frozen.. nice try… Staff had not idea what beef tataki was or what it was meant to resemble.

Food bland and seafood prefrozen. I mean $9.80 for 5 pre frozen squid rings?!!

Seriously, your better off heading to the local fish and chip shop and having a bowl of rice with it.. and that would be more authentic Japanese that what these place attempts to pass off..

Have tried to contact management to bring this to their attention, however they are proving harder to find than a Jetstar telephone customer service rep….

Me and my partner did not enjoy either of our meals.
The service was ok but the food was very blan and tasteless, not to mention chicken bones in my meal.
For seventy dollars this was way over priced.
We would never go back and wouldent recommend it.

We felt ignored for a while when we first walked in, it was a long time before any one served us. But after that, it was fine. The food was delicious and I definately want to go back and try more of the menu.

We really, really enjoy this place! We go there for lunch or dinner ‘every other week’ either on our own or with friends and we have NEVER had a bad experience. The food is fantastic (personal fav’s are the Pork Gyoza & Chicken Katsu), it’s reasonably priced & the staff are always great. This is not fine dining so we don’t expect fine dining service, it is casual, friendly and definitely on par if not better than the other eateries in the area.

I wouldn’t go back here again. The plates are a bit overpriced, and they were so small, not filling and the taste wasn’t great either. Not recommended.

Nice food. Poor service. There was one young staff member who took our orders and spoke in a tone that was rude, patronising and just had a bad attitude basically. When giving our orders, she would repeat them back to us but in a “I don’t really care” sort of tone. Such a pity as the other staff members were courteous. The food was nice but the service left a sour taste in all of our party’s mouths.
