Welcome to the cuisine of Périgord and the South West, France’s greatest gastronomic region.
Under the oaks and chestnuts are the famous black truffles and cèpes mushrooms while in the cleared land you will find the great Limousin and Charolais beef animals, milking goats for the renowned cabecou cheeses, vineyards the produce the famed wines of Monbazillac and Bergerac, and course, ducks and geese for confit, magret and foie gras.

Lunch time is extremely busy and service is slow. So unless you have 2 hours in front of you, just avoid the place altogether.

My husband took me to this gorgeous restaurant for our wedding anniversary and it was fabulous.
The food was perfect, we enjoyed so much the recommended french wine and the atmosphere was really good. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly.
Thanks again, it was a very romantic evening.

My girlfriend booked at this restaurant for my birthday dinner, last Friday. I am French and she thought I would love it. She booked 3 weeks in advance, ringing them and emailing as well, to ensure all was fine, and asking for a quiet table, specifying that was for my birthday.
On friday, we come in, nice place, excited by the food, however, the owner places us right in the middle of the dining room, straight in the passage. I notify him (in French) that my girlfriend booked 3 weeks ago, asked for a quiet, intimate table etc… but he did not seem to care at all, nor his partner, and not any sign of friendliness, of being sorry, just that arrogant obnoxious attitude, so typical from the French sometimes. Especially when they see young people coming in (I am 35 and my girlfriend is 30). I am sure they are lovely if you are older and look posh and full of money.
We went left because neither of us wanted to give our money to these people, and went to a lovely wine bar-italian restaurant, “Vivo” where they were so friendly and even organised a candle on a cheese cake slice for my birthday.
Some people we told our story to were not surprised by “Le Canard”, they had heard similar bad things. I told the owners I would tell about the bad impression I got about them and this is what I am doing, because I consider that if you open a restaurant, you have to be nice to customers, show them respect. And I mean, it is so much nicer, and they’ll come back! It was my birthday, my girlfriend had cautiously organised everything and they could not CARE less. Bad image for my country.

Great food, got given extra starters and trial starters courtesy of the chef. Was a great lunch overall and found out there are many ways to cook a snail!
Overall a great atmosphere and will definitely go back
