a bit disappointed , my daughter couldn’t have any crepe as had either mushrooms or the fancy cheeses which she does not like asked if she could have the creamy chicken with out mushrooms was told they couldn’t do that, she ended up with the bun with chicken in it bread was tough hard to eat, wife and I had crepes they were ok a bit rich for our taste, Iced coffee wasn’t as good as others I have had, probably won’t be back, price a bit steep for what you get.

It is the best cafe I have been to in Tauranga and will return sometime soon.
The best cafe for brunch, lunch, afternoon tea (awesome slices and cakes on the counter!), and dinner which could be an intimate, romantic dinner for two or a celebration with friends and family.
We are always recognised as old friends and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
Have just visited twice in two days. Saturday mid afternoon for a coffee and dessert crepe, very good quality.
Prices range from $5 to $15 for the crepes, so priced for any one to try. We had the lemon and a choc and banana crepe yummy is all I can say.
Went back a second time for a late brunch Sunday. The place was very busy with what looked like a lot of regulars.
The food was delivered promptly as was the excellent coffee.
This time we tried a savory crepe with chicken, spinach and mushrooms, very good and tasty, also came with small side salad. The french toast with banana and bacon was also very good and a good size for the price. The third dish was one of the baguettes with bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado. Very fresh and very tasty. All up $51.00 well spent on the food and coffee for brunch.
Will definitely return next time in Tauranga.

Would have rated it much higher if it were not for the arctic temperature inside. Everyone dining with their coats on. And the front door was open the whole time! Must be a French thing but definitely a no go place in winter. Imagine it would be magic in summer.

In the evening they add two or three specials to their crepe menu. I had Cock au Vin and my partner had a Caesar salad and we were both very satisfied with our choices. We both had desert – creme brule and chocolate mousse. They do wine by the glass at reasonable prices so four glasses of wine rounded of our meal.
Le Chat Noir is fairly new and the decor is a little sparse but the general atmosphere is good. We will definitely go back again. Total cost was $104 and we were very pleased with our choice for the night – better than most of the restaurants down the Strand!

my first experience wasnt so great though i thought the guy who served is rude and made me feel uncomfortable when i made a phone order i came in 10 minutes early than i said which wasnt a problem instead of saying hi take a seat be with you sortly he said your early you said 1pm hes attitude was abrupted.
the chief guy on the other hand was polite and cheerful.
sandwich was great bit pricey i thought but hay .
i read the other feed bk and shocked the guy with the bald head isnt the owner he needs to take a customer service course in making the customers happy and to come back
