We had my sisters 21st here. I am recommending this place to anyone! the service was amazing. They asked us how we wanted the tables and quickly organised that. The waiter was efficient and really patient. The meals came out in under 30 minutes and there was at least 40 of us! Everyone loved the desserts, it was really top class. and the prices were so affordable. I would go here again. They had crepes from 5 dollars to $20 desserts so everyone could really manage to eat here as the price range caters for every budget. The young Batista was really friendly also! The little boy that helped the owner was super cute and really added a ‘family’ aspect. Overall the design of the place was flash, the service was fast and the food was extravagant. Best place Ive dined in ages and I’ll be defiantly coming back

Great food and wine. Very good service.
Would have rated it much higher if it were not for the arctic temperature inside. Everyone dining with their coats on. And the front door was open the whole time! Must be a French thing but definitely a no go place in winter. Imagine it would be magic in summer.

Dear Egor,
Thank you for your kind words about our food and service. I’m sorry to hear you were cold on the night you visited. We have had an issue with our ventilation system but it’s now all fixed and the cafe is heated for your comfort. I hope you will come…

Le Chat Noir is mainly a lunch cafe specialising in french crepes but on Thur/Fri/Sat nights it opens for dinner. We went early one Thursday evening before going to the theatre. They were not busy at that time (6:00 pm) but did have people at three tables.
In the evening they add two or three specials to their crepe menu. I had Cock au Vin and my partner had a Caesar salad and we were both very satisfied with our choices. We both had desert – creme brule and chocolate mousse. They do wine by the glass at reasonable prices so four glasses of wine rounded of our meal.
Le Chat Noir is fairly new and the decor is a little sparse but the general atmosphere is good. We will definitely go back again. Total cost was $104 and we were very pleased with our choice for the night – better than most of the restaurants down the Strand!

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with friends at Le Chat Noir last night, was truly fabulous. Not only was the meal reasonably priced, the food was amongst the most delicious we have had. Mouth watering! Thank you for great service, a friendly atmosphere, melt-in-your-mouth lamb and chicken, delicious bread and dessert – the lot. We will be recommending it to everyone we know – and we will be back!!

Le Chat Noir is not your average Tauranga cafe by a long way. I have been twice in 2 days and have never written a review before, so it must be pretty good. Great coffee, salads and crepes, I look forward to working my way through the menu. Genuinely friendly staff, what more can I say ? Au revoir Alimento !

Very nice crepes. Even our kids enjoyed them. Friendly staff. Slightly longish waits but I’m sure that will sort itself out sooner or later. Will definitely return

Greerton is lucky. Tasty crepes, baked goods (the brownie is the best in NZ and typically sold out) the perfect cuppa coffee, unique drinks and a terrific atmosphere. The staff is a treat as much as the food. The Chef is producing consistently prepared offerings and the menu has something for anyone including vegetarians and gluten free diners.

I would highly recommend this place for absolutely excellent service, wonderful food and great coffee. Its very child friendly even putting up with my fussing daughter who was allowed to create her own crepe. Thanks for keeping our tummies full and satisfied.

I love being able to escape to Le Chat Noir and get some R&R from my busy salon! The food’s always great and the moccha unbeatable if Jarrod is working! As ‘they’ say: “You wanna go where everybody knows your name.” There’s always friends to greet and new ones make at Le Chat Noir!

The coffee, usually brewed and served by Jarrod, is the absolute best in town. And, the ciabatta bread with various fillings is sensational. A nice atmosphere, complimented by the friendly staff, make Le Chat Noir a daily choice for me.

first of all with a positive note i love the cafe it looks so great greerton needs a little class.
my first experience wasnt so great though i thought the guy who served is rude and made me feel uncomfortable when i made a phone order i came in 10 minutes early than i said which wasnt a problem instead of saying hi take a seat be with you sortly he said your early you said 1pm hes attitude was abrupted.
the chief guy on the other hand was polite and cheerful.
sandwich was great bit pricey i thought but hay .
i read the other feed bk and shocked the guy with the bald head isnt the owner he needs to take a customer service course in making the customers happy and to come back

Hi Leanne.
I remember you. No Jarred isn’t the owner, he is the barista at Le Chat Noir. I think there is a bit of misunderstanding regarding his attitude, which may appear abrupt, but, in his defense, is just shyness. He is a great barista and our regulars love…

Hi Rachelle,
I am very sorry to hear that you didn’t have a nice experience with us. I will be talking to the staff member in question. I do hope you give us another chance. And no, “the guy with no hair” isn’t the owner. I am the owner (Freddy) and I like to…

Great crepes. Tried both the sweet (the mascarpone or the vanilla chocolate are to die for) and the savoury (creamy chicken is a favourite of mine) and they’re all very nice. Friendly place and helpful staff. The owner is always on deck trying to make sure every one leaves happy. Great place and very nice coffee too. We’re now regulars of Le Chat Noir! Can’t wait for the liquor license…
