Me and my partner went to Lemongrass for lunch. Great food but the owner (an older gentleman) was intrusive, rude and over bearing! He ruined our time by interrupting and trying to make awkward jokes!!!! He’s inappropriate and treated us like little children! Never go here if you want a quite lunch/dinner date!!!!

Great food and good lunch specials.
I loved the food here it always tastes good.
The downfall is the manager and some of the staff.
The manager is always trying to get involved in private conversations or cracking jokes, he is even argumentative if you ask for things added or taken out and blahs on about authenticity of the menus.
Staff don’t listen and almost try to argue with you over nothing, probably cause they have such a poor leader.
The restaurant is decorated nicely.

If you ever eat here I would suggest getting takeaway as you will have the least amount of exposure to the staff and hopefully dodge the manager.

Went there for lunch food delivered fast, tasted fantastic, waitress was very rude right from the outset. We arrived and was told that they were going to be very busy and only have 1 waitress on. We had to order straight away even though the birthday lady had not arrived so we felt bad about ordering before she got there. We had 2 extra guests and waitress clearly showed she was not impressed. Would recommend you shop around given the waitress was so rude….

Went there for lunch on Good Friday, the food was just amazing, authentic Thai, menu is very simple but every dish on the menu was just to perfection, we ordered 3 mains and 2 entrees and it was beautiful at a very reasonable price, I would recommend it !

Ate here with a group of 8 women. The food was delicious. Wine very reasonably priced. Very authentic Thai vibe about the place. What let this place down was what I presume to be the owner – an older guy who hovered, commented on our conversation, was overly familiar. He kind of joined in like he was part of our group – simply not appropriate. I’d go back for the food – but if he behaved that way again, I wouldn’t go back.

We stopped by in Hamilton on a lunchbreak whilst on holiday. The food from this restaurant was awesome. Taste was good and the lunch meals were just the right amount. And very good value for money. The (presumably) owner was what let it down, we really just wanted a quiet dinner and there was too much interaction and silly jokes. A shame really.

Had lunch today and it was just delicious. Lovely friendly waitress, beautiful presentation of the food and very reasonable prices in a very pleasant environment. We were encouraged to go by friends who have recently spent time in Thailand and they said the food was the real thing. We are so pleased to have found this restaurant and will definitely be back.

On first appearance the restaurant was great, and I am the first to admit the food was nice, shame such a great effort was destroyed by the owner, It was like being naughty children at granddad’s dinner. “sit down” “pull your chair in” “I’ll take that off you” The restaurant was not busy, we where a group of 10 with half the restaurant empty around us. A bit more restraint on the owners behalf would have made it a great night. Shame he decided to entertain us with his lame jokes and rude attitude, You go to a restaurant to be with friends not to be controlled by grumpy old men. I and most of the crowd will never walk through your doors again. I genuinely feel sorry for your staff.

My partner and I went here for dinner this week. It was just fantastic! The lovely man who greeted us when we walked in the door, chatted and joked to us and made us feel so welcome, I hope you are reading this so I can say thank you.

We will definitely be back, either for dinner or for lunch. I would highly recommend this place

Ate there a few nights ago. Staff were very incompetent, couldn’t understand me, tipped my drink on the table and had wrong food brought out. Also the owner was incredibly rude to me.. Shame on you lemongrass!

Went for dinner here last night when we were in Hamilton for the weekend. The food and service were both amazing, easily the best Thai restaurant that I’ve been too, and the decor really added to the experience.

The only down side is it’s too far away from my house to be able to go back every week.

My Fiance and I went for dinner. We experienced absolutely perfect food and service in every respect!! Every dish we ordered (three course meal) was delivered by lovely wait staff, tasted amazing and showed outstanding presentation. You can really tell the chefs love what they do and the wait staff are clearly proud to deliver the great food this authentic style Thai restaurant has to offer. The front of house manager is good for a laugh, he certainly makes everyone feel comfortable and part of the restaurant’s success. The Lemongrass House is such a stunning restaurant and an absolute asset to Hamilton. We thoroughly recommend it to everyone. – Scott Candy & Ryan Jones.

Went for tea with my husband last Saturday night and was absolutely beautiful. My husband had the whole snapper with vege n rice and i had the lamb shank with vege n rice. The flavours were superb, excellent customer service, great portion sizes. Awesome!!! Will definitely go there when in Hamilton again.

Went to Lemongrass house today with my partner for lunch. Service was really good and the wait staff are very helpful. I got a stirfry with the red curry paste, it was really good apart from being a bit too spicy! After telling the waiter they then made me another which wasn’t so hot for no extra charge. My partner got the thai green curry which was also really really good! Thai Custard is also good Highly recommend this restaurant.
