Not a bad little eatery, with an attached arts and crafts centre. The service is usually pretty good with friendly (and pretty) staff, the coffee usually spot on and the food is generally fairly good (though the “big breakfast” could do with some changes).

Thanks for your comments Harry.
We are currently in the process of writing a new menu and the big breakfast is one of the dishes we are reviewing.
Thanks, Kate

Great meals, great service and nice setting. We really enjoyed our meals – the salmon and the steak sammie. Also the peppermint slice was delicious and coffee was good. We will recommend the Lilypad Cafe to others. Thanks for a great experience.
Went with small group in September. I had the seafood marinara. It was very ordinary, I could make a better one at home. Also for $19 I would expect a salad with it. I won’t go back or recommend the place. It’s one saving grace is the beautiful setting with its scupltures and gardens. However, not a lily pad in sight!

Coffee was nice, staff very friendly and welcoming however I felt the food was a bit average. I had the venison pie, ok flavour but not a lot of meat in it and no pastry in sight. For the top end of the price scale it was a little underwhelming. Will give it another go though as I do like the setting.

went today found it to be very expensive for what I received, left hungry. Nice surroundings, staff ok. Don’t go if your really hungry

Startlingly average. I’ve been to this cafe many times and always loved the food. On our last two visits we found the food to be below average. Neither my husband nor I finished our breakfasts on the first occasion. The gluten free options for cakes are limited to one and it was not nice! Sadly disappointed with the cafe and I believe it’s under new ownership since just before these two visits, but the garden art store will always make me return. It’s fantastic.

Great food and coffee and excellent service. Also in a beautiful garden filled with sculptures and other art. Definitely worth the trip out!

Don’t expect to get in without a booking.
