We went to ‘The Little Bistro’ for our fourth wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were a stunned to how small and intimate the restaurant was as myself and husband are not small people we were not sure whether we were going to be comfortable, but alas we were more than comfortable. Emma was so gracious and even though we were very close to the next table you felt you were in your own world with a little candle flickering on your loved one setting the mood. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere warm. I definitely would go again and experience the reason why most couples go to restaurants to find fantastic food and romantic setting and the Little Bistro acommodates this in every way. Thank you again definitely recommend. PS loved the fejioa wine mmmmmm…..C u next anniversary

What a fabulous find, ‘The Little Bistro’ is small intimate resturant with a fabulous menu and wine. Front of the house, Emma took expert care of our large group and had a extensive knowledge of the food and wine they were serving. Paul, the chief (and Emma’s partner)cooked up a storm in the kitchen. All our meals were cooked and timed to perfection. Well done and lucky Akaroa to have yet another wonderful restaurant for visitors.

Superb! My colleague and I, who have both eaten extensively (hence our general shape!) highly recommend this small but perfectly-formed restaurant in Akaroa. Friendly staff (Emma and her soon-to-be baby) took our order – scallops with chive oil and other ingredients I can’t recall for starters, then my friend had a rib-eye steak on a potato, black pudding and crushed leek base while I had a seafood cassolet – both were exceptional. All washed down with a superb Wild Earth 2008 Pinot Noir from central Otago. My friend who has run IT companies from Pennsylvania to Prague thought it the best restaurant he had been to. Genuinely a pleasantly surprising find in beautiful Akaroa
