Little India Bistro & Tandoor was first founded in 2001 and is conveniently located on New North Road in Kingsland. A great place to have a function the restaurant seats up to 150 people. A specialty of Little India is Chicken Jhalfrezee, Jhalfrezee was one of the supreme dishes created during the days of the Raj. The word “Jhal” means hot and “Frezee” means stir fried. The Kingsland restaurant is part of the Little India group of restaurants located around New Zealand since 1991. Also available are takeaways and home delivery with an additional 10% off pick up

This is my favourite restaurant in Auckland. The food is superb, the service is always friendly and efficient. The mixed tandoor platter for 2 is so good. The curries brilliant (quite hot, consider yourself warned), the breads are excellent, and they’re BYO. I’d eat there every night if I could!

It is a must to visit to get that punch in flavours of India. I frequently eat and get takeaways from this place and loved every mouthful of it. I love their Kulcher breads, naans, the side dishes and the entrees.
The service is great and are obliging to accommodate any needs to lessen the heat or alter the recipe on any dish.
I eat here at least once a week. Still a great place to eat.

I love Little India! They serve vegetarians very well – the Paneer Simla Mirch (try it with the chutney – divine) and Malai Kofta are really delicious. Just be warned that they can be on the hot side, so you may want to go down a peg on the usual scale.

One of the average indian restaurant in the town. the food was okay and the service was slow, and no one was interested to ask us another round of drinks. probably it was a weekday and they didn’t expect many patrons.
i’ve been to their wellington branch few times and found it far better than this one.
wouldn’t be interested to go there again when in auckland next time

Curry is good but there are some much nicer places that don’t charge as much. (try curry king in avondale) also eating in was ok but the delivery service not only took over 45 minutes but the delivery person was rude too. I would go again because its my local but wouldnt if I had another option.

Delicious, very authentic seeming Indian food. Very reasonable prices. Decor is extremely basic, which is why it’s cheap. We are happy with the service. Try the tandoori chicken and the veggie dishes, they’re awesome.
