Went to Little India last Friday (October 24th) and found the experience very average. The wine list is poor: I accept that wine does not really go with Indian food, but there are a few wines that can work with spices (riesling, gewurztraminer) and these were non-existent. Where were the cocktails that might have gone much better with the flavours? Our meals arrived late, well after the meals of groups seated after us. The entree of tandoori meats included good pieces of chicken but the steak (was it steak?) was grey, tough and flavourless inside. Inedible and unidentifiable. We had the banquet,which was vastly overpriced, considering the quality, at $40 per head. There was very little meat in any of the main dishes (maybe 120gms at most? Would love to have this verified) and an excess of carbohydrates (rice and bread), probably because they are cheap. This is easy, mass-produced stuff, like what you get in the shopping mall food hall. OK if it is cheap but $40pp is a little more than it should be. I have eaten beautiful Indian food in India, Fiji and England. This is not as good.
