My friend and I went there today for lunch as I had a GrabOne voucher. It was excellent! I had the frittata and salad, very reasonably priced and the glass of wine was a decent size :)
Being from out of town I would have never have known about the Loft without GrabOne as it is quite out of the way. I hope word of mouth means that this place is successful – you don’t know how lucky you are Wellington!

Worst Service Ever! We arrived and there was no one to serve us, we had to ask if there was a free table. Once we got a table no one came to take our order or give us water as they said they would so we just got up and left. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

I would recommend you go elsewhere, its not getting any better after 2 years of going there frequently for meetings.

The Loft hosted my husband’s 30th birthday bash for an entire evening. It was a great night hosted by Carol and her staff, excellent friendly sevice and awesome atmosphere. I’d recommend anyone to have a function here – can’t say enough good things about the team and helping to make my husband’s 30th a memorable one for him and others that came along to celebrate! Thanks to Carol and her team again.

I went here with a few of my girls, the food was something we could of made at home, mince on toast, bacon & eggs, toast with avocado and tomato etc.. was also way over priced! my friend even found a piece of plastic in her mince! the loft is definitely not recommended!

I went to the Loft for a business meeting over coffee. There were 5 of us, and we were served promptly, and the coffee was good, as was the slice I had with it. I have also been there for a company party – it fitted quite a large group very well, and we were well fed with some very yummy nibbles, and the wine service was prompt.

Loft has a nice little spot sitting on top of the old Whitcoulls Building. I could sit for hours in the comfy chairs surrounded by all that orange brick and timber floors. Also, the tea selection is great. But lose the timers. Half of them don’t work. Also get some traditional cups – you are only alienating the older potential customers with those glass tumblers.
There are a number of other problems with the cafe. Firstly, the quality of the food is variable. For example, they seem to have a good scone recipe – but half the time they are overcooked. Secondly, the staff are way too slow. Get at least one qualified waitperson and get them to train the others.
I want to go back to Loft for my morning and afternoon tea, but I also want to eat some decent food and be back in the office in under 30 minutes.

Having just re-opened I thought I would check the coffee out. I was the only customer waiting but the service was still slow. I ordered a trim flat white & a scone. The scone was good but the coffee was bad. No froth at all on top, tasted like coffee mixed with too much hot milk (heated on a stove top).
Will definitely be switching back to Mojo.

Staff at The Loft are friendly and helpful.

I have had lunch at The Loft twice now. The first time I had the ‘Fish of the Day’. It was took over half and hour for it to be delivered (the restaurant was not busy) and the meal was extremely average.

I thought I would give it another go (due to it’s location to work) but again was disappointed.

I ordered the “Meat of the day” which was supposed to be Scotch Fillet and mashed potatoes. A more accurate description would have been “Scotch Schnitzel and mashed olive oil (with a sprinkling of potato”. The meat was no more than a few millimetres thick and the potato was oozing olive oil (the taste of which lasted me well into the evening).

I will not be eating there until there is a change of chef.
