Big meals, family friendly servvice, fun atmosphere. We came here in January as escapees one night from a Camp we were attending and had cruised Eat Streat for something suitable for the kids (under 10) but found nothing that would satisfy everyones preferences. This hit the spot nicely. Will return next time we’re in Vegas.

A group of 4 of us recently went on a girls weekend away to Rotorua and were staying at some accommodation that was just down the road from this Lone Star.
‘YAY!’ we thought, as we LOVE the Lone Stars in Auckland and will quite often pop in for a catch up dinner. However, Lone Star in Rotorua is a completely different story!
The staff there were completely disinterested. They looked flustered and rushed off their feet even though we got there just after opening and there was only one other table (of 2) there. We felt like we were intruding and a nuisance. We waited at the bar to be seated for 20 minutes and were only seated when we noticed the other couple were being seated and went and asked whether we could take a seat yet. No apology was recieved, just a non-smiling escort to a table and menus given.
The food was so so, I’ve had better. But because of the bad service none of us will be returning there again.

Way better than 2 years ago. We crossed the Lone Star off our list of places to dine through bad service (very slow). We did let them know of our disappointment after our 3rd visit.
Went again at end of 2010 for a sports team dinner. Both meals and service improved markedly. Enjoyable night.

Went here whilst on holiday last week.
Service was great, and prices reasonable.
I had a chicken dish which was stuffed and came with buffalo chips and salad, very tasty and huge meal. My friend had a Prawn meal (prawn star) which was also really big and she said was very tasty.

We visit Rotorua lonestar for every family birthday and just love the food!! Always the kids favourite too. Big meals, fantastic food, great service and lovely atmosphere!! A+
Extremely busy the night we visited but very impressed – we had a voucher for a free Lone Star loaf which is a freshly baked bred loaf with garlic and herb butter on the side – delish!
I had a porterhouse (sirloin) perfectly cooked medium – came with buffalo potatoes, coleslaw and a honey mustard sauce $32 – Ron had a ribeye with the same sides but with pepper sauce – again perfectly cooked $32 as well
Service very attentive, could not say anything bad about this place besides the slightly pricey prices!!
