I use the excuse of being part-Italian for absolutely loving Italian food. My wife and I had earlier gone to another Italian place in Queenstown but failed to look at the menu before entering and left not long after to make our way to Luciano’s which we had dined at one before a long time ago.
It was later in the evening, so it was relatively quiet unlike the first time we had dined there. The walls and environment are adorned with a Mafioso theme. There are a lot of tables, but not so many that the place feels crowded.
We started with “squid” as it is listed on the menu and considering the price of $9, was really impressed with the fact that it was a lightly bread-crumbed calamari and a really reasonable amount of it considering the price. You would easily pay $15 for a similar sized portion in many other places.
I had the lamb for dinner which was a perfectly cooked pink lamb rack, again a good sized portion and a lamb shank. Which isn’t a common combination within one meal, at least from what I have seen. A larger than diet recommended meat sized portion on a bed of mash and diced zucchini. My wife had the pork-belly and having tried some of it, I can say that both meals were AWESOME!
Staff were really friendly and attentive. In fact, I am hard-pressed to think of anything that I didn’t enjoy about the meal or the place.
Highly recommended! Will definitely be going back!

Very unusual way of serving garlic bread with whole soft cloves and aoili but enjoyable. My knocci came with a rich flavoursome sauce. I loved it. The staff were friendly and efficent. Would recommend and reasonably priced
