We’ve eaten at Bailiez three times; 2004, 2006, and December 2010. The past two times have been after 5-7 day tramps. We have had amazing service! In 2006, we walked in just before closing, and we felt no pressure to hurry. We had the NZ platter and it was just amazing. I spent DAYS on the Dusky dreaming about enjoying the NZ platter at Bailiez. We’ll enjoy another meal there next time in Te Anau!

Worst meal in 3 week trip. Somehow my burrito got cashews in it instead of beans. My wife’s dish was burnt. We were sitting close enough to the kitchen to hear the conversation between the wait staff and the chefs and it sounded like a lot of the orders were being filled incorrectly. Also overpriced.

We dined on the 20.2.2009 at this establishment and also found the service very very poor which also matched the quality of the food. Staff very unprofessional and the manager wouldn’t take any reponsibilty. We do not recommend to eat here.

We arrived late 2130 after a visit to the glow worms.Pork belly all fat.Staff in hurry to get home.
