Very nice indian food. I have been to other Indian Restaurants in Blenheim which are no where near as good and more pricey also. Friendly service too. The one small downfall might be the ambience, its a bit dark and dingy in the restaurant. Could do with a bit of a makeover. Other than that I would highly recommend.

A group of us dined at Maharaja India last weekend. We saw from the menu that all main meals are served with rice and that there is a ‘happy hour’ special from 5-7pm with mains costing $14. However, when we went to pay the bill it turned out that there is an extra $1 for rice, which is not mentioned on the menu (although I see that it is now noted on their website). I ordered the lamb jalferzi without capsicums and a plain naan; this was explicitly confirmed with the waitress who checked with the kitchen that my meal would exclude capsicums. What arrived was jalferzi WITH capsicums and no naan. Eventually, a bland vegetable-heavy replacement was made. The service was average at best, with staff standing at the end of the table and calling out dish names to the eight of us and one person (who had ordered a mild dish) being accidentally served a medium-hot meal. As for the environment … the sticky tables matched the sticky floors in the toilets. Disappointing.

The food (we had Lamb Rogan Josh)is very tasty.The dining experience is always very relaxed with friendly and attentive staff.
The meals are very well priced and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting an excellent Indian meal at a great price.

fantastic food..i have been to other Indian restaurants nation wide but this is something different if it comes to taste..believe me people..i don’t car about service,it is okay but you foget everything when you get to have the first bite…

Everything about our meal shocking the food was of such low quality I am surprised anyone was willing to serve it. It looked as if it had been sitting out all day in the sun. The service was slow and the waiter was rude when we mentioned the poor quality of the food. I would recommend no one eat here unless you are really desperate for a curry.

Best indian we have ever had. We now travel through Blenhiem when ever we cn to get Rogers dishes
