Wellingtons Original Craft Beer Bar.
Malthouse has been serving up Craft beer to a growing fan base for going on 20 years. with a range of 29 taps and over 140 different beers in our 6 temperature controlled fridges.

The Malt House provides an amazing opportunity to try new and rare beers and maybe find a few new favourites. Our list is designed to give a little guidance along the way but then, the old ‘close-your-eyes-and-point’ works well too.

Excellent selection of beers, food however is average. Better to drink here, then eat elsewhere

Craft beer selection is great and you can ask to try if you’re not sure.
Pizzas however are greasy. :-(
My advice: Just drink your beers at the Malthouse and then go and have dinner somewhere else!

This beer lover’s paradise offers an unparalelled selection of great beers and should be a must on the itinerary of any beer fan both local or visiting Wellington. I’ve only been in once for a couple of quick birthday drinks, and was pleasantly surprised. The staff had a good attitude – the bouncer wasn’t too nazi-ish on the ID thang, and had a good attitude, unlike most of the macho bully-boys which dominate the profession. I can imagine this place gets pretty packed, but there was a nice table of our own our group utilized, and the decor of the bar is very modern and stylish. The selection of beers is awesome and really a great sight to behold – i can’t wait to try more of them. Anyway, ideal for one or two casual afternoon drinks, with a nice atmosphere. I haven’t tried the pizza.
