Agree with the below, we went for lunch 3 people.
1 person’s main came, they finished, then the next persons main came, they finished then the last person’s main came. Oh god…
The food is nothing to rave about either, bland and tasteless.
Can not go back there.

Kingdon Street has seen many an eatery come and go in the last 6 years ….. sadly, this premises once supported a fantastic local called Zero 9. Whilst it were not going to win any culinary awards – It ticked many boxes. So Zero 9 changed hands – and within a month it had closed the doors. Sad….
After a few more months closure, Manthana Thai finally opened – now after a few months, curiosity beaconed , and I had to try it. Not too too high expectations – but my colleague actually took his takeaway back. Yellow curry Sirloin with salad and roti. A palm sized piece of inedible, tough and totally unmalleable steak [ he said the sauce were tasty enough .... ] on a bed of soggy mesclun leaves with two slices of ciabatta bread. Whilst $11.90 isn’t going to break the bank, this area of Newmarket provides some interesting places to eat, that serve value and wonderfulness each and every time. My paltry box of three chicken pieces called Satay chicken, it too came graced on the same bed of soggy mesclun leaves known at Manthana as ‘salad’ and a peanut satay sauce that I very much doubt has ever seen a peanut. Maybe Watties bit on the side Satay sauce has something to do with it.
Calling at 11:50am prior to the ‘lunch rush’, is no guarantee of speed, nor availability…. the venison satay were not available – nor anything venison for that matter. Glad it were the case though, as it potentially would have had the same grave outcome as the sirloin.
Sorry to be harsh, yet spending $24 on lunch, that is mediocre at best. If they are going to continue on this tangent, I suggest they invest in a higher quality plastic knife & fork – it may take the focus off the fact you can’t cut your food for a bit.
