Not good enough Masala, you used to be great!

Loved the interior and selection of drinks available. The staff were great, the food was amazing and the price of the naan as reasonable. Have been to a few places now were the naan costs that of an entree.
Masala is quite a popular place, and as such can be pretty busy with the lunch crowd on weekdays, and quite buzzing certain nights of the week during dinner. Anyhow, seldom does our wait for food get into the “too long” side of things, and the waiting staff are very professional and friendly when they’re bringing you your food. The food is sublime too, just awesome, top notch curries – delicious and creamy, and their naan breads are the best in the city. Fresh, soft and hot out the oven. The lunch menu is a scaled down version of the much larger dinner menu, but is also much cheaper. Delicious, high quality Indian food for $9 – talk about value for money
Anyway, Masala is BYO too, which is great, and handy – situated across the road from a wine store, and nearby to a Supermarket with a pretty sizeable cellar of its own. Staff are good at their jobs here, and the menu is sizable enough to not get bored of – even after a couple years – be sure to try the side order of pickle with your curry – outstanding addition.
The best Indian restaurant in town, this one tops the horrendous and bland Curry Club, as well as the awful Tulsi, and the overhyped chainstorishness of Little India, and the other two-bit operations around the capital. Professionally run, inexpensive, with a great menu, Masala reigns as king of Indian cuisine in Wellington. Do check it out.
