we have been to Masala around 3-4 times for lunch. However, on all occasions our meals have always come out cold/luke warm. Which made dining a little unpleasant. We have on one occasion ask that the food be re-heated. Our most recent visit was Friday 4th Feb 2012 for lunch. The restaurant was very quiet and although we received our meal within 20mins – it wasn’t hot. Please attempt to serve “hot food”!! thanks.

Good food, meals came quickly after ordering even though it was a Saturday night and busy.
Paper tableclothes are a bit naff though.

Families have to go on a Mon, Tue, Wed for the best tasting curries at an affordable price. Cost less than greasy burgers and chips. This ones a winner. Even my fussy 3 year old will polish of a bowl of Mild Butter chicken. We are hooked! Visit weekly.

I eat here regularly and although the service is good but sometimes very very slow you can’t really complain when you are paying $10 a main meal.

the food, venue and staff are excellent, but SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, I went there with 4 people and it took 2 hours to do a starter and main.

My husband and I had a fantastic meal here for our anniversary. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We had the Masala Banquet and everything was cooked just how we had ordered it. Will definitely be going back.

Absolutely fantastic! Best tasting curries (and I’m not a keen fancier, but now ask to go back!) Excellent service and prices. Make this a weekly standby! Love it!

always go to masala when we want Indian food. the quality of the food far exceeds any other Indian restaurant I have been to and the prices are very reasonable. I have two children and the staff are very patient and their kids menu is food my child actually eats.. will definitely be going back again and again

Fantastic restaurant – beautiful food, great service. A real treat!!

A great looking venue but disappointed by the fact that our group paid $35 per person and were given a $30 banquet meal. An entertainment guide discount was not honoured. It is an Indian restaurant and I was not disappointed by shortly later suffering Delhi-belly.

The curry here are the best lunch dinner is great value i have many curries this would be up there in price and the taste is dam fine

Great local Indian restaurant. Our family have been a number of times since it opened in Pukekohe and it has become one of our favourite local eating houses. While it can be a little slow at times to get your main, when they are very busy, it’s not overlong and allows conversation & wine. Ordering an entree ‘tides’ you over anyway until the mains arrive. Have tried a different dish each time we’ve been and have not been dissapointed. Very clean & consistent.

I just cannot understand those negative ratings. We went with 2 small children – which is not easy at times and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Also a bonus: the plates were warm, we got clean knives and forks after the starter – and weren’t ask if we wanted to keep the dirty ones! The place was clean and the decor was above standard for an Indian restaurant – at least in the South Auckland area. And above all – the food was delicious (although I have to agree, the medium dish wasn’t very spicy). We will definitely make his our regular Indian!

The wait was a bit too long but that was not the biggest disappointment, as stated below the lighting was very dismal, but still failed to hide that the korma looked like my mates butter chicken with veges thrown in! also very mild dishes, ordered a medium rogan-josh and got a nice flavor but barely what I would consider mild. I guess I can say it was borderline worth the low $10 price

Good food, excellent value for money, please don’t listen to all the other moaning and groaning above – clearly they are not used to eating out. Who wants their food within minutes from arriving? Have a juice or wine first! Comparing to other restaurants, this is cheap and the food is good

Waited over 40 minutes before Mains turned up, no apologies from staff. Nobody checked if we were OK during the wait, had to even ask for water. Food was not worth the wait either, very low lighting, hard to see what you were eating. Better Indian restaurants locally !

This cafe has the opportunity to be quite special with an elevated and pretty setting(nothing unique). The food is average and at times below. What lets it down is the service as all the staff seem preoccupied and disinterested. Oh for a smile . Anything to make you feel like they want you there, So much compettion i n Puke. Wake up!!! .

We love this restaurant, the food was extremely great. Usually get takeouts, but this time dined in. love the decor, friendly staff and also a pleasant atmosphere.
