Mihi Cafe revisits the 1959s “Milk Bar” era. The building and decor celebrate the period with formica tables and vinyl chairs. Vernon Ward pictures, old china and old toys add to the atmosphere.
Great coffee, great food, ice creams in a cone, milkshakes and a return to old fashioned “friendly customer service” are our trademark.
An eclectic range of gifts also available including Nellie Tier skincare, Tikitibu gift tags and a selection of Kiwiana food products.
The “Two Towers” playground is a fantastic area for the kids to burn off energy.
Come and enjoy all of what Mihi Cafe & Food Store has to offer, we look forward to seeing you.

Stopped into this place on the way home from holiday, It was about 3pm and we were dubious that we going to get any hot food, upon entry we were greeted by the owners who told us that the kitchen was open, I had the burger which was decent and my wife had a sandwich. The real winner here was the play ground out the back for the little ones. Great for a stop, do try it.

Love the retro style, heaps of room, loads of parking space.
Not so enamored of the food. Over priced and not great quality. I use to stop in regularly to support this business venture on the way to taupo and it made a great meeting spot to catch up with reps and friends but the quality of the food kept falling. The cakes and slices are really very good, what mum use to bake but the hot food left alot to be desired. I will go back to meeting there when they stop cutting corners on quality.

This place is awesome, from the minute we walked in we knew it was going to be a hit. The kids ( x3 pre schoolers) were immediately impressed with the toys and playground, the food and coffee were fab…atmosphere, friendliness and great retro furniture. Really decent pricing….we will be back for sure ( my daughter asked to go back to ‘the playground’ the very next day!). Thank you for a great experience

What a great place, We had 3 x3 year olds with us and they were entertained the whole time…they LOVED it!!! The playground and bouncy things and even a play kitchen….. who would have thought and in Reporoa!!
On top of that the food was fantastic and very well priced. The staff were also extremely friendly.
Highly recommend to everyone.

Great food and the best coffee we had during our stay in Rotorua & Taupo. We loved the retro look with the tables and chairs. Would definitely stop in again.
