I took my parents there for Mothers day & my dad’s birthday and was sad to see we were the only table in such a big restaurant with some awkward elevator music playing, but I thought this may have meant the service would have been grand. Instead the waitress seemed like she couldn’t care less and reset the whole restaurant for breakfast the next day while we were still on our entree before 8pm-she paid little to no attention to us at all the whole night.
The food was bland and overpriced with no soul at all. The steaks were unseasoned, the risotto was flat and the scallops and bacon inedible really due to the salt of the bacon. The desserts all seem to have been comprised of the same tinned fruit as well-all very strange tasting. I was very embarrassed to take my parents here and unfortunately will not return.

This place is trying to be classy but food was below average. Certainly not worth the price. Food was dry, badly flavoured and the place had an awkward feel about it. The scallops entree that we ordered tasted like it was from a frozen pack from the supermarket and the pasta was dry and too lemony.

In addition to all the bad reviews I’ll add another. I ordered the Chicken Ravioli which was dry, too big, sour and came with no sauce. It was a struggle to eat. The scallops wrapped in bacon was poor as the bacon flavour overwhelmed the taste of scallops. And my partner had the Pork Belly which was far too dry and quite bland in taste. The place was quiet the night we went which makes sense now given our experience.
The staffing seemed to be of the “United Nations”. Service delivery could do with a little polishing but table etiquette by people in general is somewhat lacking these days! At 7.30pm on a Wednesday night only one table vacant. Main courses were generally good except for a medium-rare steak arriving rare. Deserts were interesting and varied. Prices not out of the ordinary and remembering that they include 15% GST. Would revisit.

Booked a table for my partner and I earlier in the day.
Got to the restaurant and they didn’t have a table for us and so they stuck us right at the back in a big booth which would normally fit 6-7. It was very strange. Yes they were busy but we had booked and you would have thought that they would have had a table set up for us but no!
We ordered a starter of the classic something (cant remember), we got our starter plates which were pretty decent sized and we were waiting 30 mins so we were thinking it was going to be a decent size esp for the price it was.
But we were disappointed. It was deep fried and all we got were 4 prawns and 3 small bits of calamari…and it cost us $16. You can get at least double that for less than that price at a bar. And it tastes better.
We ordered or mains only to be told that they’d sold out of the lamb shanks so we had to look at the menu again. I ended up getting the duck and partner got the other lamb dish. I have to say it was pretty average (and on the small side) esp for the price.
Our water were left unfilled for many minutes on end even though the waitress walked passed us many times.
Overall not worth the price we paid. Or the wait.
Its just a bit of a disappointment as I have been here a couple of times before and enjoyed it but this time I didn’t. Its gone downhill, the food is way overpriced for what you get. Esp the supposed Bar Snacks. Bar Snacks usually cost around $5-8 but not $16. Pathetic really

Went to mint for fathers day, we had a total Of 10 people, first they mucked up our coffee order, by the time the coffee was correct it was cold. We waited about 50 mins for our meals the restruant wasn’t busy at all. Our meals were very disappointing. I will not be going back to mint. Waste of money. Used to like mint but it has gone down hill.

I went there for a friend’s special birthday. Overpriced, below average food. Disinterested wait staff. The best part of the experience was the expensive bottle of wine. I had the scallops wrapped in bacon, the scallops tasted defrosted and there was nothing on the side. Very little food for the price you pay.

Waitress obviously does not enjoy her job! It was quiet, only two other couples in the restaurant (which maybe should have been a sign given it was Saturday night). Meal was fine, nothing too spectacular. Overall I’d say it is over priced and the service leaves a lot to be desired.

We were visiting from Christchurch and took friends for breakfast. Quite busy but still with great service. Servings were more than generous and prompt. Overall we had a great experience with good value for money – we will be back.

Very disappointing Mothers Day meal at Mint. The waitress approached a bit too quickly initially then disappeared for quite some time. We were then given plates for our entree which were filthy and sent back. We were then advised that what we ordered for our entrees (despite being given plates to use) was not available. Mum got a glass of wine which came in a filthy glass. The food was extremely average and overpriced. My partner ordered the salmon filo parcel as a main. Two triangle filos with a small side salad ($28). The filos were meant to be smoked salmon with prawn and smoked bacon. There was no bacon to be seen, very little salmon and one prawn per filo. My pork belly was overdone and despite saying it came with broccoli none to be seen. I know it was Mother’s Day and therefore they were busy – but not good enough. We won’t be back.

Four of us went for dinner last Saturday. Service was poor. We had to actually ask for a wine list and then wave frantically at the wait staff to get a drink despite the restaurant being almost empty. Meals poorly cooked. Lamb over cooked and dry. Pork Belly undercooked with raw fat. Deserts looked and tasted like rubber.
Will never go back.

Initially looked promising for Sunday brunch with friends… coffee order was taken by one waitress, food order taken by another waitress 10 minutes later. After 15 mins we followed up to see where our coffee was, order was lost. 5 minutes later received 3 out of 4 coffees, apologies were made and we thought 4th coffee was on it’s way. 2 out of 4 meals were correct, 3rd was missing a side order and the 4th was completely wrong….. still missing 4th coffee. Asked for 4th coffee again, meals were corrected and brunch continued.
The food was average, the service was friendly but unfortunately poor.
We will not be returning again

We went to Mint for Valentines Day. The waitress started out surly. After we asked if we could have two more minutes to decide (we had only been there a few minutes when they came to take our order) she gave us a dirty look and walked away. Clearly having a bad day. We looked at her in disbelief and to her credit she did improve her attitude as the meal wore on. The food was hotel style with little soul. The main was offered to be brought out to us as soon as the entree had been cleared away. We asked for time to let our first course settle but the meals must have already been prepared as they had clearly been left left sitting in the kitchen and were luke warm and borderng on soggy when they arrived about 7 minutes later. The pannacotta was a solid white mousse and the black doris plum crumble was canned apple with a plain crumb on a canned black doris mash. To top it off the music was beyond tragic. We almost cried with laughter as the instrumental version of Here Come the Clowns played finished off with the theme tune to Annie. It completely ruined the otherwise pleasant setting. Very disappointing.
