We went here for a Thursday at 1pm. It was about half full. The staff were friendly and they are organised. We only waited 10 minutes for hot chips and a heated panini.
It is a good cafe to go and visit if you have been shopping for hours and you need a drink and some food to fill your belly. They are even child friendly with their kids menu and a tv screen.
The food is reasonably priced and its not a fancy place, so it wont excite your tastebuds too much. It will fill you up though.

We have been going to Mint for a few years now and the service was always good and the coffee was good too. But over the last month we have noticed a sharp decline in the service. There is no smiles or friendly attitudes, the tables are dirty and the once good coffee has dropped alarmingly in quality, so much so that i left a large flat white barely touched today as it resembled more like a milk shake than a decent coffee. It was over foamy with hardly any coffee taste to it at all. Sadly we shall now go elsewhere for good service and a decent coffee.

I went to Mint in Lyall Bay this morning and was very disappointed. I went in at 8:05am and had to ask if the place was open – which it apparently was judging by the nod and grunt I received in response. There were no scones or muffins ready – if you’re going to open at 8am, have the scones and muffins ready, otherwise just open at 9am!!!!!! I ordered a hot chocolate and it arrived quickly and was perfectly OK, but would a smile hurt? If you’re not a morning person, don’t get a job that starts before noon – there are plenty of bars in the city to work in at night! I’ll avoid Mint from now on and go to the much better, friendlier cafe around the corner in Kingsford-Smith Street.

I was in here on Queens Birthday weekend. The cafe was full and clearly busy, even so the staff where great. They were very friendly and the coffee was a god send. We had a great lunch and will be back. Our kids loved the toys, colouring in and the Ice Cream.
If you are looking for a great stop when you are out and about you can not go past mint

wow what a find who would have through that there would be a place as great as Mint next to a warehouse. The food is awersome the staff are really friendly. I love the fact that the kitchen is open and I can see everything been made that I am about to eat.
As a bonus mint has fantisc gelato.
Thanks heaps guys Mint really is Mint

I have been eating a mint since the day the store opened. I have to say that they have the best coffee anywhere in Wellington. The food is excellent, it is great to see that there are still places around that know how to present a meal. The thing that I was impressed the most with is the fact that Mint has a certificate on their wall from Hospitality NZ saying that they are an approved training centre for the apprenticeship programme. It is great to see a local cafe supporting the youth of NZ.
We love the menu it is unique in the fact that they have also incorporated the national language of New Zealand.
Thanks heaps guys you rock
