Wow what a find on our last night in Napier! Got here on there second night of opening, great service, friendly staff, food even better and great beer to match, value also outstanding. Highly recommended by a seasoned diner and traveller, thanks for a great night out!

The highlight of last weekends visit to Napier was finding this establishment.Discovered it Friday afternoon for a glass of wine and bar snacks,so impressed we enjoyed another 3 visits!
Breakfast 2 days running, dinner and morning tea with local guests.Their daughter loved the sugar donut experience.
Fabulous and well priced menu promoting local foods and wines.Exceptional service from the many staff who are helpful, courteous and and professional.
Chefs have stamped their personal touch on the dishes including great desserts.
Just wish you had opened in Auckland……PB + SB

Eagerly awaited the opening of this trendy new all-day dining spot in Napier…
Took Mum and Dad for an impromptu Mother’s Day lunch and Prue warmly welcomed us at the door and led us to a spare table, despite a blackboard stating “20 minute wait”… Great buzz in the room, wait staff efficient and slick open kitchen… Loved the table settings, complimentary bread and olive oil. Mr D house White (Chardonnay) was delicious and the Stoke beer on tap was refreshing.
Ordered the braised duck risotto, pulled pork with white polenta and spaghetti with clams and pesto. A real taste treat! Mister D is full of personality and we look forward to our next dining experience… Well done!

Amazing evening at Mister D in Napier. Food out of this world, but not surprising as designed and delivered by David Griffiths and Prue Barton ex Vinnies fame and recently from Craggy Range and Black Barn in the Bay. Atmosphere great, staff friendly and welcoming, food and wine to die for.

We really enjoyed our meal. Lovely decor and excellent service. The ‘pulled pork’ was delicious and the duck risotto superb. We also paricuarly enjoyed the dressing on the green salad… I want that recipe! Thank you for a lovely evening.

With great anticipation we entered hoping for lunch. There were several free tables, though we were told we needed to wait – No menus to view.
Several other groups came in and were seated by different staff – we questioned whether we could be seated but no – Prue said the people she seated were her friends.
I should have expected an icy reception with Prue running the team out front!
Miscommunication and a team that couldn’t cope with a lunch time rush let this place down.
Not even seeing the menu I can’t comment.
Though seeing the faces of other impatient customers was enough. Such a shame Napier! Fix up your service and remember your customers are why you’re there – not merely to be another hospitality socialite.

This new spot just up Tennyson from Marine Parade is a welcome addition to the Napier dining scene. The restaurant is well lit by a large skylight and has comfortable seating both in and out.
I stopped by for a late morning brekkie and had a coffee and ricotta slice with “drunken” fruit that was both refreshing and delicious.
Can’t wait to stop in for dinner and try the potato Gnocchi with coffee grounds on the Bar Menu or the other tantalizing mains on the lunch and dinner menu.
Welcome to the Hawke’s Bay ‘hood’!
