Have had several Sunday brunches, food good. Very friendly staff there weekdays too, usually only there for takeaways coffees as the cabinet food can look expensive, but had a fritter recently which was very nice and worth the $8.50

Agree with all of the below reviews -

Waited over 45 minutes for two eggs benedicts. While people who came in after us got meals before us, and it wasn’t until we followed up with the staff that we got our meals.
Place wasn’t busy – but seemed staff didn’t really care. No apology or anything for the wait….

Only good thing I can say is the Coffee was good… but was long gone by the time our meals arrived.

Don’t think I will be rushing back to Momento North…

Went there a few times for lunch…
Not a good choice, service was unfriendly and slow and the portions are mini, you don’t even get a side salad when you have a frittata. And it is not cheap! Walked away hungry…
Not a good choice to go for lunch.

Again another fanitastic Momento Moment! Addicted to the coffee, the food (especially the caramel slice!!!) and the service! The team have been known look out the back if there is no caramel slice left in cabinet :-) Yet again another awesome coffee this morning – Thanks Joe, will be in tomorrow!

So Impressed!

The first time I went to Momento North, I ordered a coffee and a meal. They were so welcoming and friendly! The coffee and food was great, fast service too, and I liked how they put two shots in their coffee as a rule.

I liked the warm atmosphere and cozy feel to the place and I have been back quite a few times since. What I liked the most is after about the fourth time of ordering coffee, they actually remembered my order! Fantastic!

I have also used them recently for corporate catering and the food has been divine! No hiccups, no worries and great presentation. I would definitely recommend them for excellent coffee, tasty food and great service! :)

Went here today – Sunday afternoon about 1 pm. We were the only seating (9 of us), that came in the time we were there. About 10 -12 other individuals in the cafe already.

1 hour 10 mins later we finally got our meals! For the most part people had good food except for mine. I ordered salt and pepper squid, to be served with wasabi, plum sauce and salad.

The portion of squid was tiny – about 6 – 8 haphazard strips, some small, some long, some thick some thin. Served luke warm, no crispness and oil-drenched. No browning of the flour on the outside, nothing. Absolutely disgusting. My salad was also luke warm. Half the squid drowned in cold plum sauce, a tiny whisper of wasabi smeared on the plate. It looked gross. Tasted worse.

I immediately went to the server who informed me that she could do nothing about it and she asked if I wanted extra salad. I told her no, that I thought they were taking the mickey. That they could not be serious about the portion size. I was asked again if i wanted more salad.

I was then told that they could not make larger servings as the boss would tell her off. She also said the chef would get told off by the ‘bigger chef’ who was not there.

I took my plate back and tried again but no – what a massive rip off! Shit food for $17 and a 70 minute wait for the pleasure of it.

I took it back to the counter and told them I would not be eating it nor paying for it. The server graciously accepted my decision.

If the chef in the kitchen has so little autonomy – what faith can the customer have that they will receive good food? A chef must stand behind what they produce. If the ‘bigger chef’ – the boss -said ‘serve this old fish’, or ‘use this rancid butter’, or ‘we need to make more money so cut portion sizes (so that the customer leaves hungry)’, and the chef does this against his better judgement, I say: shame on the chef that day and shame on thMoree ‘bigger chef’ whoever that is.

I am never going back! What an insult.

UPDATE: got a message to my e-mail and via MenuMania. Momento take full responsibility for the dish and have spoken to all staff concerned. I appreciate this.
