Love the food – nice and simple (well, the ones I order) and a good price.
Wait service sometimes is a bit slow but always friendly and if there is a problem I have always found that they will provide a resolution.
I suggest staff training should be on the menu.
The young lady who served us was very pleasant and gave efficient and attentive service. I was reluctant to comment on the meal to the young girl because she was so pleasant and also did not wish to embarrass my daughter.
I found the quality of the meals was sadly lacking after previously experiencing excellent cuisine when the restaurant was called Monteiths. I’m reluctant to return.
So Mark, in response to your response..
1). To ascertain who had made the complaint, you should have brought the waitress back with you and been discreet about it, however you choose to make a big performance of it
2) I was very polite in my feedback about the dessert, if she was intimidated then perhaps she is not right for the job
3) actually I only had a couple of mouthfuls of the replacement
6) hmmm, yes others felt the same however, after the performance you put on, were not willing to complain
You are astounded that I placed this? Really?! Well it seems, mine is not the only negative feedback you have received. I am also surprised that my to the point, professional feedback on your Facebook page has been deleted. If you are not willing to take ownership and bad feedback for this, then that is up to you.

Service didn’t improve after that, mainly being totally ignored and then had 2 staff members sit near by and bitch about customers. What ever happened to service with a smile and being gratefully employed?
First visit was for lunch, my partner and I walk in the door and the first thing we are addressed with was “Can I see some ID.” When this little girl went away to check if they were still doing lunch, we walked out. A paying customer should NEVER be treated like that, absolutely disgusting.
Second time I came here was on a Tuesday night. This was their quiz night. We had made a booking for 20 people, for a Grandmothers birthday. On the phone a staff member went to check that it would be ok to have that many people, which apparently it was and we’d have the whole upstairs function room.
Why did they lie? They were not able to accommodate that many people. All the staff were in a bad mood, I didn’t see anyone smile, not even once. We had to walk downstairs to order our own drinks; we waited for our meals for over an hour from order. Most distressing was a younger family member who was really hungry and tired with the long wait. Her order was some sausages and mash, which was asked to come out early, twice, but came approximately 15 minutes before our meals, PIPING hot which made it too late, they had to leave, and the staff decided to come upstairs looking for money for the child’s’ meal and fathers’ meal which he never got to eat.
No respect for anyone else’s requirements.
I am honestly shocked with this poor service. Why should we have to go downstairs and ask for our own water for the table? Is that not a standard procedure?
I understand the place was busy as it was quiz night, but why not say that on the phone? Why say it would be fine so we come in and have to endure 3+ hours of waiting around?
And a small article about the food; I had the antipasto platter which was fine, some people had chicken burgers which were dry, and the chips were incredibly soggy.
Moral, don’t go here unless you don’Moret care about being treated like a human being.

The service was really slack, we had to ask twice before being given menus and had to go to the bar to get drinks and ask for our order to be taken as the table service was almost nonexistent.
The food was average, I had the fish and chips, the salad was just lettuce mix and very wilted with no dressing and the fish wasn’t fresh. The other meals were ok, although three of the five meals arrived five minutes before the other two.
I won’t be going back to this restaurant.

I got there first at 6pm. It was very busy. I hadn’t made a booking but the staff were very accommodating and found a table we could use until the next booking at 7.30pm (we finished at 7.23pm).
I had sausages and mash – one of my favourite meals. I got three huge sausages on a bed of soft mash and lovely thick onion gravy. Another of our party had fish and chips and got three sizable pieces of fish and loads of chips.
I found my meal to be very filling and, although tempted, I just couldn’t find space to try the dessert menu.
Other positives were that the staff were suitably attentive without being intrusive and the location of the bar with lots of parking (if you get there early enough) makes it a great place for us to go to. We’ll no doubt be back.

We have been here a number of times in the past, but probably not for about a year. We were really quite disappointed this time. My sisters Fish was raw and had to be returned. My Chicken was dry and not very tender. My brother inlaw complained that the steak was tough, and my husband was not that impressed with his burger. We have been in years passed very impressed with our meals, so it was a real disappointement for us on this occasion. Can not complain about staff service, they were very good. Not sure if we will come again.
Even the “kids eat free” special is not enough to make me return until I hear the chef has changed.
Seriously, you’d cook better yourself at home.
we have been there twice now once with children and once without and both times we were taken care of very well, would recommend to anyone, food is well presented and tastes great, recommend the big boys steak and eggs and the spinach and bacon pasta. Kids meals are taken to a whole new level and presented with as much professionalism as the adult mains. fantastic wine and beer selection. cant wait to eat there over summer and enjoy the sea view over dinner.
