The maitre d’ was super nice and upbeat.
Food was tasty and was really nice going somewhere with a different country’s cuisine. Also they serve their meals with sharing in mind, so small plates with 4 portions. was a lovely way to do things.
Down falls were the place was a bit cold, and bright, and also the price. although cheap per plate, adding a number of dishes together to get a full meal to fill yourself up does become a little bit pricy.
There were 2 of us that went for dinner, we had a glass of wine and one beer. spent $90 and left still feeling a bit peckish.
Overall we loved that we tried something new and different, and the food was tasty.

It had been a few years since I’d been to Moyses Taverna. When we lived in the city we would often pop in for dinner before or after picking up or dropping off people at the airport.
A group of us from work, went for dinner last night and everything was wonderful.
The food is not just good it is great! Fresh, served hot and delicious. They hold a good range of NZ and Greek wines.
All this delivered with friendly, chatty, helpful service. Who encouraged us to use the Greek names for the dishes we ordered and share the meal as you would in Greece.

Went to Moyses tonight just the two of us and I have to say the food was excellent. Had the platter for two and everything was perfectly cooked, hot and fresh. Bread and dips were superb and even a confirmed egg plant hater had to change their views. Overall excellent dining.
We don’t often write reviews but this place deserves a special mention.
The Moyses (muses)
Doesn’t look like much on the outside but we were pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in the door.
The staff were pleasant and helpful and got us seated right away.
We had a serious craving for Greek and having lived in Toronto for a number of years, have significant experience with the cuisine. My wife wanted Calimari and I wanted some succulent meats. We decided on the platter for two since it had both and much more besides.
We started with a Greek salad which was excellent and big enough to share. The platter came out next and was fantastic. We gorges ourselves. The platter could probably feed 3.
We will be going back and recommend you try this place out. Great value and flavors skillfully prepared.

Wow !
An absolute gem in an unlikely setting near the airport.
Having lived in Crete for 6 months on my OE many moons ago I have always pined for the supremely fresh simple food of Greece. Moyses transported me right back to Crete 1982.(even though the owner chef is Cypriot I believe) The food is absolutely outstanding and is served as tapas style plates. The highlights for my family is the slow baked eggplant, outstanding Greek salad, calamari, halloumi, lamb chops and fish. Moyses is a huge hit for my whole family (which includes 4 boys). We will continue to frequent such a marvellous restaurant for many moons to come. i can’t speak highly enough about the quality and flavours of the food.
