Mr. India is always been best in Taupo. We visit regularly for takeaway and dine in. We enjoyed meal as usual at its best. All the staffs are very quick and friendly at every visit. We are very happy to enjoy apple flavoured herbal Hookah after our dinner. That was fantastic experice of socializing with friends.

We tried Indian meal at Mr. India last night in group of ten friends. We found this is the first and the oldest Indian restaurant in Taupo at Alleyway. Great spot to be relax & dine in. We had Maharaja Indian beers and ordered individual different meal and shared. The food quality was very rich and tasty in authentic style. The decors and music given best ambiance. Waiting staffs were very helpful and friendly.

This is a perfect venue for small gatherings in a quiet place of Tuwharetoa Street beween bars & restaurants. We went with our family for the evening and the atmosphere was authentic and warm. The price was very reasonable and the menu for the sit-down meal has plenty of dishes to choose from – everyone commented that was delicious the food and all the staff were just amazing the way they quietly served. Highly recommended. Thank you, Mr. India, for helping to make my day and evening so special.

We had dinner last week with hour family when we were passing and had stay overnight in Taupo. The restaurant was located in Aliway but can say hidden secret of Taupo. The restaurant was wonderfully authentic decored. The atmoshphere was very warm and pleasant and clean. All staffs were very young, knowledgable about menu and friendly. The food presentation, taste sensation and quality was absolutly superb. They deserve bit more value for their product and service. There were many locals visiting for takeaways while we dine in so must be popular in locals. HIGHLY RECOMMANDED. You will get value for your spend. A+++++++

The worst meal ever. Service was poor. The food was bad. We were willing to sit through the meal, but when they decided to mix both our dishes into one container for the doggy bag, that did it. The food was tasteless and we were planning to take it back to our motel and re-cook it with our own spices, for breakfast. We left the food in the restaurant, complained to the Manager and walked away. Never ever setting foot into Mr India….its rubbish.

Without a shadow of a doubt our meal at Mr India Taupo was the worst Indian meal we have ever experienced – by a long shot. The Naan bread was burnt and dry in parts, and thick and soggy in others. The two mains (a vegetable dish and a meat dish, both with rice) were practically devoid of any flavour or character. They wouldn’t hold a candle to any Indian sauce you could buy at a Pak ‘n Save supermarket. It was as if the chef went on holiday and they employed someone straight off the street to cook it. A sign on the front window said ‘Staff Wanted.’ A bitterly disappointing meal…
