We were trying to find a new place to have our dinner on Monday. We made the big mistake after we pass Murphy’s law. As a steak night, both of us ordered the sirloin steak. After 20 mins, the steaks arrived. My MR steak was an end of piece, totally grey color after I cut from the middle. I sent it back, got another one after 10 mins, it was done really similar to the first one, but better meat quality. I have to say it was the worst steak I had. The Bar faces the Murphy’s law does much better job.We won’t be back.

My partner and I went here for a late lunch one sunday. We often head to a gastro pub in the weekends and weren’t disapointed with Murphys Law..

I ordered the Paddy’s Pie; a beef stew with mashed potato and pastry. it was DELICIOUS! The meat was incredibly tender and the gravy so full of flavour. My partner ordered a steak sandwich which he enjoyed but i think the steak was a wee bit under done for his liking. The meals were good sizes and were good value for money; i think the meals cost about $18 each.

The service was great, our waitress was attentive and friendly, smiled alot and was extremely polite- we were both impressed.

I do have a few complaints however; it was a chilly sunday and all the doors were open, letting in quite a cold breeze. I would have loved the fire going or even a small heater. Also, i noticed the floor could do with a good vacuum and there were a few flies hanging about. That sounds awful but honestly it wasn’t too bad.

In general we really enjoyed our lunch there and would probably return next time we are in petone.

I have eaten here twice.
First time with adult daughter, after a day of shopping we enjoyed a nice chicken salad and wine outside in the fresh air. The price, service and food was lovely.

2nd time was with the husband and 2 young daughters. We sat inside the small but lovely inside and enjoyed looking at the gorgeous bar. I had a yummy cooked breakfast (bacon, toast etc) – The girls had pancakes & and cream. They loved it. Hubby on the other hand had the bacon, sausages and black pudding and wasnt overly fussed as he found the sausages dry and black pudding slightly overcooked. However the price was very reasonable & and the service lovely. The girls are happy enough to go there again for the pancakes.
