Been meaning to try this restaurant as i live nearby, instead of a sit down meal decided to try their take out – one of the worst Indian meals i’ve ever had. Was it just the take-out? Was it an off night? I’m not spending the money to find out. The curries were bland, runny (this could be usual as they may make them in a different style) and overall extremely heavy on cream, the cream taste in the dhal makini in particular was overwhelming and with no spices it was off-putting. Won’t try them again.

Sorry to hear that you did not like our food, The Dahl Makani is translated “Dahl in Buttery cream” many have tried this (as it’s cooked exactly the way you would find it in India) and loved it, we do cater to special requests and can lighten up on specific…

My friend and I were trying to find a place to celebrate our 21st birthdays in Wellington and wanted a cheap BYO place as we are typical students.
Stumbled upon this place on Menu Mania and thought we’d give it a try… best idea ever!
This restaurant is fantastic. We booked for 35 and the place sits 40, so we had the entire place to ourselves. While a couple tables were made free for other patrons, our large group may have scared them off which was good for us!
Great great food, that came out very quickly for over 30 orders. So cheap also. The free corkage was also welcomed!
For a reasonable priced BYO restaurant in Wellington, this place was incredible. Water brought out, complimentary poppadoms, flowers on the tables and table clothes.
I could not recommend this place enough and I’m going back next weekend!
One recommendation for the restaurant: make your own website! I don’t usually look at these types of websites to choose a place to go but I am so glad I did this time.
One recommendation for patrons: like them on Facebook to find out new specials etc.

My partner and I live next door to this wonderful bistro, and all we smell all day is the beautiful curries that we partake in consistently.
While the kitchen staff had to iron out a few chinks in their armour during our first couple of meals, they have since improved their service to nigh-top notch, topping other Indian restaurants that we used to visit regularly.
They have since dropped their corkage charges, and have introduced amazing deals for the food that they produce. This fact, along with the great manager, friendly staff, beautiful food and a handy location make for a 6 out of 5 stars for my partner and I.
Excuse us as I cut this review short, I’m off to go next door

We ate here on the night after Naan opened. Staff were friendly and food came quickly. We’re vegetarian and the menu has a good vegetarian range. The Kadai paneer and mattar mushroom are favorites. Since then have ordered take aways from Naan on 3 occasions and the food is consistently good.

Whilst the evening was entertaining, we had booked the restaurant for food, not entertainment.
There was a huge disconnect between the kitchen and waiting staff. At one point we were told by the waiter that if things did not improve he would bring the chef out so we could yell at him ourselves.
We ordered the banquet, the starter did not come with enough for everyone to try a piece of everything. So the waiter, who had noted this also, arranged for more to come.
The food was tasty enough, the service was ok..ish (the first time I have been called bro by a waiter
– I am a female), and the wait between courses was far too long.
We left full, and had a good laugh.
BTW there is a corkage fee, it is $5 per bottle.

Hi Jo,
Thanks for your reveiw, it was an entertaining evening. However, I have spoken to our chef and explained your concerns about the starters and also to listen to the waiters when they take a customers concerns to his attention. I am not sure about the “Bro”…
