Nam is one of those hidden gems that you don’t want to tell too many people about as you don’t want it to be ruined, but can’t keep this one a secret any more! Fresh, tasty, fabulous and authentic Vietnamese food (and coffee), very cool environment, wonderful service, and really good value for money – check it out!

Since coming back to NZ. I’ve been looking for a place to get a decent Pho & found this place. I went there last week for lunch. The pho was okay, not as good as the ones I’ve had before at a Viet resto in Cali but I might come back and try their other dishes. The waitress was nice and encouraged me to come back on a weekend and bring my kids.
We went here for dinner last night for Wellington on a Plate. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and I would highly recommend! I will definitely be dining here again, and I will be telling all my friends and family about it! Thanks NAM!

I was looking for a BYO restaurant to celebrate my birthday and I came across NAM on the internet. After visiting their website and checking the photos of the interior and the amazing menu, I decided to give it a go. Best decision ever! The places is small and cosy and accommodated really well my 25 friends. They offered us the set menu for $25 (2 entrees, 4 main courses and 1 dessert) banquet style. The food was fresh and delicious, all my guests left happy. The corkage was a bit expensive 7 dollars, but everything else was so good that it didn’t matter. T There’s no music and some of the other tables were of couples or elderly people, some seemed quite bothered with the amount of noise we were making, but it’s their problem really. The staff put an effort to accommodate everyone and even offered me a bottle of champers for my bday! Food – great. Price – fair. Staff – very helpful. I had lots of fun, totally recommend it!

Outstanding little resturant. We go here for work now and then and the meals are always outstanding, at a more than reasonable price. The service is excellent as well, very friendly and smiling staff. You just know they love serving food and making sure their guests enjoy their meal. Always will be back!

Finally, Wellington has a decent Vietnamese restaurant. Thank you! So far, I’ve been once for lunch ($15 2-course set menu) and once for dinner (a very generously-priced $25 3-course set menu) and on each occasion the food has been divine and the service impeccable. Tasteful decor and unobtrusive music also add to the experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

Have been here a couple of times for lunch. Service is excellent, restaurant is comfortable and the food is great.

Having just come back from Vietnam I can say that the food is authentic, but agree that they could add a little in the way of condiments and flavour; just because we’re westerners doesn’t mean we need everything dumbed down
Not to say that it’s bad at all, everything was delicious.
.
The Rice Paper Rolls are good, but not as good as I’ve had. The Pho Bo was delicious, but a plate of herbs & vegetables to add to it would make it even better. The Hue style Spicy Beef was tasty, but could definitely have been a bit spicier.
.
All in all a great little restaurant, and very authentic. Would and will happily return.

Nice restaurant a bit out of the way, service was good, although only one person on the night we visited – it was mid week. The food was good, but no excitement factor – I’d expect more authentic from NAM.

Love Nam!
Organised a birthday dinner here on Saturday, and everything was perfect. Nice cosy restaurant, perfect for a birthday dinner. Staff were so accommodating. We brought in our own cake which they put away in the fridge until we needed it. The food was amazing, we tried each others dishes and everything was divine! My friends and I are still talking about the great time we had here on Saturday. Thank you Nam for a memorable experience!

I ate at NAM with my 2 sons several months ago, and they still enthuse about the delicious food and the lovely ambiance of the restaurant. We were visiting family in NZ and are now back in the UK….and still hunting for something anywhere near as good.

Have dined at Nam twice now and on both occasions experienced clean and delicious flavours.
The setting is nice and simple with lovely pictures on the wall.
The only down side with Nam is that you have to leave the restaurant to use the toilet, which in fairness isn’t far away at all.
Staff are prompt and polite.. thank you!
The food is YUMMY and I highly recommend the beef soup!

A Huge thank you to the Team at Nam, For the beautiful professional, and prompt service that you gave my friend and I when we dined at Nam for lunch a few weeks ago. The Vietnamese food you served was absolutely incredable. It was the most authentic tasting vietnamese food I have had in the Wellington region. My Friend had the creamy Chicken Curry and was extremely delighted at how nice it was. I had the Spicey Chicken Wings and can honestly tell you that they wer by far the best Spicey Chicken Wings I have ever had.
The Staff and Manager were very friendly and prompt with serving us. A very friendly atmosphere. I have no hesitation in recomending NAM to Everyone. It is by far the best and can assure you we will be returning many times more. Thank You.

My fiance and I ate at Nam last Friday evening and had a fabulous meal. Neither of us had eaten Vietnamese before and thought it a good idea as we were going to see Miss Saigon the next evening. Food was tasty with delicate flavours and very fresh ingredients and the staff were warm and friendly and very welcoming. I believe Nam is very new and I hope it continues to grow from strength to strength

As a young man I travelled extensively throughout Asia, and have always remembered Vietnamese food, and how much I loved it when I was there…Eating at NAM restaurant, brought back those fond memories, and having eaten at the other so called “Vietnamese” restaurants in town, I can say that Nam restaurant is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in wellington.
The famous Beef Pho (noodle soup) at Nam is fantastic!! a must have, along with the vegetarian dishes!!
Cool relaxed atmosphere and mood, with great Authentic Vietnamese art.
friendly service the only downside was the wait to get in but…the place to go if you want real Vietnamese cuisine.
