Namaskar, Kia ora, welcome to the house of real food

The menu incorporates traditional classic favourite dishes that apply authentic and contemporary flavours. Our teams of highly skilled chefs use only the fresh and finest ingredients, spices which are ground and mixed by hand, ensuring pure quality and quantity.

When you think of India, you probably think of great food, the Taj Mahal, elephants roaming the streets and a rather large number of people hustling and bustling around. Whilst we can’t quite bring the Taj Mahal, the elephants or the thousands of people here, we can bring the delicious flavours. Indulge in the best part of India, right here in Havelock North.

A group of us had an excellent experience at Namaskar today. We couldn’t have asked for more polite or helpful staff. The meals were tasteful and well presented. We had no problem with the decor, unlike the previous reviewer We felt it to be subdued which gave a relaxed atmosphere and unlike many restaurants, the acoustics were good.
Overall, a lovely meal. We all said we would be back individually and as a group. Highhly recommended.

I’m not a fan of their signage or their interior decor… but I do appreciate what they’re doing in the kitchen! The curries I’ve had so far… (and I intend to try them all)… the Lamb Booti Masala and Prawn Malabari, were both exceptionally smooth, balanced and authentic. They say they grind their own spices and it must be so… these are not flavors that come out of a can or a jar. The prawns had a popping fresh texture too… a very nice surprise especially considering it was a takeaway dish. Oh, definitely order the special rices… the Pulao and the Coconut… and take a spoonful of them without any curry… they’re amazing. The prices were very reasonable, the service very friendly and sweet. A nice addition to the restaurant scene in the Village… (and it’s never too late to consult an interior designer if they should want to have the contemporary “look” to match their contemporary cuisine… in case they’re listening!)
