I’m the owner (or Hindu/Indian guy as you so nicely put it) and I would like to clarify a few things. When I brought your meals out to your table and your brother was eating sushi inside the Nandos restaurant, I said that we didn’t allow food from other restaurants/ takeaways into our restaurant. I did say very politely that it was ok on this occasion but please keep it in mind for next time. For some reason, you didn’t find this acceptable and became annoyed about being told this. I also pointed out that we have a sign on our door which clearly says “we do not allow outside food in our restaurant”. In the past, we have had issues where customers have brought in boxes of pizza and on one occasion, even boxes of KFC! I’m not sure what other restaurants policy are on this but at Nando’s, the dining area is reserved for Nando’s customers wanting to eat Nando’s food. This policy is there to be fair to all our customers. In this case, if you’d had ta ken the Nando’s meal and eaten it at the Sushi restaurant, I wonder what response you would have gotten from them? As for chasing you out, I can assure you that I was very polite and considerate. You chose to turn it into a negative experience by becoming annoyed at being asked to follow the restaurant policy on outside food and decided to leave. While packing your meal at your request, your teenage brother became very rude and offensive that I asked him to wait outside as I didn’t find his behaviour acceptable. To move on, we regret what has happened and are happy to serve you if you chose to dine at Nando’s Riccarton in the future.
