Had a large party pack of sushi and nigiri for lunch. It’s a great value indeed!! Both sushi and nigiri were awesome both in taste and quantity and quality. $50 well spent!! I’ve received 55 pieces of the mix. Very friendly staff and prompt in meeting the order. Excellent decoration too.

Just had the worst meal we’ve ever had there. Very disappointed as we have been long time regulars. The decor has changed, the chefs and staff have changed, and the menu and food have changed (all for the worse). I asked if there had been a change of owner and was told the new owners were Korean and the chefs were Korean, but could cook Japanese. (I disagree!) The food no longer has that beautiful, subtle Japanese flavour and stunning presentation. Menu choice is much reduced, portions smaller, dumplings and katsu meal were overcooked and tasted burnt. Ramen meal was grey and greasy.
Hugely disappointed as we have had many great evenings there, but won’t be returning. Can’t understand why people buy a popular, successful, profitable restaurant then go ahead and change everything that made it that way!!

Had two chicken bento boxes. Quite possibly the worst Japanese we have had in Auckland. The sushi/sashimi was presented very nicely, however the fish tasted old, tough and of indeterminate origin, and the Salmon component was big chunky and still had the ‘brown’ layer on.

The Teriyaki chicken was very basic, the sauce had none of the stickiness and taste of normal teriyaki and it was on some anemic looking and tasting rice.

The Tempura was extremely thick, greazy and very clumsy.

All around a very very bad performance, the price was the only thing that was reasonable. Hope this was them at an offday but will never go back to risk it again.
