I came here recently and the girl that served us was rude and very unfriendly…they got our order wrong but they made us feel bad for taking it back. It is way too overpriced and we will never come back here.

This place is super cute – retro style decor: collectible teaspoon display, records as place numbers, doilies on the walls.
I had the pork belly which was super delicious. My partner had the duck leg which was also very nice. My hot chocolate was yummy and I intend to come back and try a slice of one of the gorgeous cakes that they had on display.

I’ve been to this cafe a couple of times as it’s close to our home. I think the food is good however the service can vary. I’ve been there and waited for AGES for our coffees, having had our breakfast and then the attitude of the staff when we’ve had to ask to have our coffees. Another time I ordered something very quickly and was reading the paper waiting for it, a big group came in after me- prob 8-10 people. I was so engrossed in the paper that only noticed when they were all leaving, with their coffees and my order hadn’t come yet. i had to remind them- and they were super apologetic. I like to support local business and will give them another chance.

Retro decor is nice, and plenty of parking. Service wasn’t anything special. Food was good but portions weren’t big enough for the price. Coffee was awful, took it back to be remade, still awful! Won’t be going back, as there are better options just up the road in the Mt Eden Village.

Came here on a very busy Waitangi Day, lucky they didn’t charge extra. My Eggs Benedict was pretty good (with smoked fish $18.50) – very lemony hollandaise sauce, however serving on a big plate made the portion seem small (2 english muffin size) and I would say this EB was good but not spectacular. Friend enjoyed her French Toast a lot – my small bite revealed a cinnamony taste and a very melt-in-your-mouth texture. The service could be better, even tho they were busy, like bringing us all cutleries at the same time, not leaving us to ask for more after we were served food. The big breakfast and fish hash cake looked delish.
Next Door has not long been open and we have been a couple of times for breakfast.
They seem to have plenty of staff and the service is quick/efficient with a smile.
The decor is retro which makes a nice change from sitting in modern styled cafes.
We found the food fresh and great tasting with excellent coffee.
