Went to Nishiki in Botany for lunch yesterday (Sunday). I have had dinner at the Freemans Bay branch, but wasn’t aware we had a branch so close to home until recently.
It is a small restaurant, but packed and very busy nonetheless. We ordered two lunch boxes with set C, one with teriyaki chicken and the other with pork sauce cutlet. We also ordered a beef tataki to start.
The beef tataki was delicious and moreish. The lunch boxes came with numerous items. The miso soup was hot. The salad was fresh, the prawns in yum-yum sauce was perfectly cooked and so were the chicken and pork mains.
Nishiki Botany, like the one in Freemans Bay, is a great little restaurant that serves very good Japanese food. We will definitely be going back, and taking the kids next time as they would love the food there.
The service was pretty good, and the waitresses came around to make sure we were happy. They also went around to each of the tables and asked people if they wanted to order anything else before the kitchen closed which was nice.

Yum yum yum yum yum. This is my favourite Japanese restaurant my partner and I used to come here once a week sometimes even two. Cheap, fun, great atmosphere, awesome & efficient staff. Make sure you book because they are always busy!!
Not the best service. I mean there was three of us and it was reasonable price for great tasting food (the food was great) but it was like being drip fed food. We would have to share one dish as each dish came out and the time between them was about 10 minutes each… we were still hungry when we left so decided to go to Mc Donalds… The food is amazing but try not to go there when busy because you will leave hungry unless you buy heaps… and it will cost you a bit then.

Good delectable choice of food available at nishiki. Unique way of ordering during lunch Time where you can choose sets of rice or soups to go with ur main order giving the customer more flexibility. Almost everything on the menu is terrific. Would go regularly if it was more affordable !
During dinner, the portions are quite small for the price, but it is expected for a specialty restaurant, expensive but not a rip off.

An old marketing adage. 96% of customers don’t complain about poor service – they just don’t come back. Nishiki need to learn this basic rule. I struggled to discuss a basic booking inquiry with their female duty manager. After acknowledging me, in the middle of the discussion, she interrupted me to attend to their desk computer on an evidently unrelated matter. I carried on when she was ready to listen only to interrupt me again to attend to a customer just entered behind me. Asking to view a menu, I was advised to “check their website” Appalling lack of service. Without customers there is no company !
You would just want to eat there all the time. Great food, great atmosphere and the prices are reasonable for quality Japanese food.

Awesome atmosphere, good food, great selection, staff were busy and had to be reminded twice to bring an ordered bowl of rice. Not the best meal Ive had but would definitely go back.

Went to this place years ago and remembered it was good value for money
Definitely worth experiencing! Like its city cousin, book in advance!
Great Japanese food and great japanese custom..the loud warm greetings and farewells always startle me, something not quite use to but I’m getting better!
Do not be fooled by the small portions as they take its toll when you get carried away trying this n that
