I went to there with my husband before. It was just excellent. The food was good and the price is too cheap! I told my friends this palce today. They couldn’t belive me. What else are you expecting for a restaurant at this kind of price? Let alone in Auckland central! Of course you can go to other restaurants with more staffs speaking English and pay 10 times more than this. That’s your choice.

The yum char is very well priced for the quality and quantity of food.
I went here with my partner,we both really enjoyed the Yum Char buffet that they had in service they had alot of dishes to choose from and we will definately being going back again, so if your a Yum Char fan then this is the place to go,service is good apart from the lack of english speaking people that work there but a smiles good enough for me when I’m hungry, just wish they would post there opening hours on there page, because I want to go there right now!!!
Who cares that they don’t speak good English? They do great dumplings. Prawn and coriander, prawn and chives, prawn and bok choi, prawn and pork sui-mai. OK, I love prawn. But all the dumplings are good. I’ve heard a few call it ‘the poor mans yum cha’, in comparison to it’s rival Grand Harbour. Utter rubbish! You just have to ask for the specials, and believe me, the duck is to die for. As are the little egg tarts to finish. Believe me, you’ll find room.
Ocean city is a hidden treasure. More humble than Grand Harbour and without the try hard celebrity status. Plus, it’s much cheaper, $2.90 per dish (excluding specials). And you’re guaranteed a table. Despite the language barrier, a smile is universal. And the service here is delivered with one.
But if you prefer to wait in a queue to be treated more inconsiderately, the food at Grand Harbour is good.
