Food was amazing, ordered the salmon, which was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Service was satisfactory. Had to ask for a drink as waitress who seated us forgot about us, but once 2nd waitress had this brought to their attention, they made us feel like their number 1 priority. All in all, a good experience and will go back when we visit Whangamata.

This could have been amazing, simply let down badly by the service. The food was brilliant, but we had to ask if someone would take our order, ask if someone would get us a drink, and watch the group of 5 or so waitresses catch up on their weekend gossip or some sort of socialization while we waved our hands or left our table to approach them to get some service. They were totally amiable and lovely ladies, but wouldn’t move from their space at the bar without request. Made it a very frustratingly bad evening, despite the wonderful food – thanks to the chefs! Should be way better service for the price.

I have been to Oceanas 3 times and booked in again on 19th Sept, this place is great,lovely owners and staff, service and meals as usual a high standard, would and have recommended this restuarant to a lot of people who share my views.

Ordered Scotch Fillet steak meals (two)& the meat was tough, texture not like quality Scotch Fillet. Vegies were two very small pieces of brocolli, even though vegies were stated as part of meal.Mentioned to waitress that we were both disappointed but no further concern shown. Ordered dessert wine with (tiny)creme brulee & had to ask for it to be served with dessert, NOT with the coffee afterwards. Waitress did a good job as far as service concerned, apart from dessert wine, but felt the owners/chefs let us down badly for what was meant to be a higher quality restaurant with prices to match. Felt ripped off and won’t return.
