Based on reviews we decided to meet up with friends for brunch/lunch and we were not disappointed.
We were pleasantly welcomed with attentive service. The coffee was perfect for us and the food was good quality and value for money.
We had the bonus of watching the Huntly Half Marathon as we relaxed.
Will we go again? – Absolutely

Hi To all,
My wife and i went to the Odd Spoon Cafe in Huntly on Sunday 5/02/12
We were just passing by from a trip to the Waikato, and decided to have dinner on the way home.
To our surprise the Odd Spoon Cafe really gave us a roast dinner to die for , The service was that of a 5 star restaurant and the meal was dressed to a al la carte standard.
We would highly recommend that if you want a truly great dinning experience you must stop and enjoy the Odd Spoon Cafe.
All our best to the owner and staff, Ronnie & Jendy.

Passing through Huntly about 2 weeks ago my partner and i dropped in for a drink and a bite to eat. The beer is cold and the food is delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you live near by or are passing through. I’m with ‘Danielle’, the carrot cake is yum!

I have called several times for coffee lunch and an evening meal, service is always consistant ,nothing is a problem, very well presented in a classic hotel style dining room. Modern well presented and superbly prepared meals. It would be a mistake not to call if you are in the North Waikato

My husband and i had lunch here mid-week. The service was nice and friendly without. The food was excellent and there was plenty of well priced choices. Our chicken open sandwiches were generous and had great visual appeal on the plate.

Our museum recently held a fundraiser dinner/concert at the Odd Spoon, using meat provided by our sponsors for the night, Huntly Wild Game. The ‘concert’ part of the evening featured the great jazz pianist and singer David Paquette. The obliging nature and generosity of Toni and staff at the Odd Spoon was amazing as a piano and sound system was brought in, seating changed around and game meat became the featured item in the kitchen.
While hugely different from the usual menu, the wild pork and venison emerged from the kitchen as beautifully cooked and presented as the regular fare at the Odd Spoon.
Thanks to the Odd Spoon and Huntly Wild Game we raised a good amount towards our new museum development. This venue is top of the list for future fundraisers and in between times, a great place for a coffee or a meal.

I enjoy the lunches on a regular basis and it is a great place to meet with clients etc. We have used the Odd Spoon on several occasions to supply platters of creative and delicious food for functions. The food is always ready on time and of consist ant quality. Well done Toni. Huntly really was in need of a quality cafe like yours.

As a Waikato District Councillor I frequently use the Odd Spoon Cafe for lunch meetings as I am confident that the food and service provided is of a very high standard. The friendly staff always make you feel welcome and the atmosphere of the Cafe is both professional and inviting. It is lovely to see the community support that has encouraged Toni to expend her opening hours to include dinners.

Five friends and I were passing through Huntley we stopped in at the Odd spoon for breakfast jut after 9 am on Sunday. The place was clean with good decor and clean. The friendly waitress behind the bar said that chef didn’t start until next 9:30 and she would go and speak to the chef while we had our coffee (great coffee by the way). Chef came down a bit early to cook for us and it was worth the wait. Some of us had the big breakfast and the rest including myself the eggs bene with bacon. All the meals were delicious and generous and the Eggs bene had perfectly poached eggs and the holladaise was freshly made. The prices were reasonable too and service was great and friendly. I would highly recommend the Odd spoon. Next time I will try their lunch

I work at the North Waikato News in Huntly and the Odd Spoon Cafe is a great place to dine. We have called in for a quick coffee, and have dined in for a meal. We regularly have staff meetings, entertain clients and my site manager on her visits and will always go to the Odd Spoon. Fantastic food and excellent service. This serves us well as we don’t have to leave town. Well done Toni, Mike and the team at Odd Spoon. See you again soon. The team at North Waikato News.

Was passing through Huntly and for a change went down the old main street, instead of the bypass. The old pub caught our eye coz of the fab art deco design. Stopped to have a look & found ourselves in the Odd Spoon Cafe (part of the Essex Arms). Highly recommend this cafe for its ambiance & cleanliness, while still retaining the grand old design. Food was awesome and all home made! Staff were great as well, we were served by the owner Toni and told her we would be telling our friends about the Odd Spoon – worth missing the bypass for !
