Loved this restaurant, excellent food…had my mother over form Australia,she loved it and our waitress “Ruby” was fantastic, efficient and very attractive, a great asset to The Olive Press. Only shame was staff had to share their tips and I would prefer to tip my waitress for HER service NOT everyone else’s, management should look into this as it is not fair !

Thank goodness we now have a fabulous restaurant in Devonport to augment its other assets. The service at Olive Press is impeccable – the waiting staff are professional and hover around making sure that everything is OK but without hassling us at all. I really got the sense that they wanted to make our meal a success and it was without doubt. Each course of our meal arrived just at the right time – we were neither hurried nor waiting for our food. The food was all fabulous especially the Calamari. Unlike the other reviewer, we had plenty of bread with our entree. The courtyard with its open fire, heaters and easy chairs is fabulous and I especially liked being brought a rug to keep the chill out. I am going to make this a regular haunt.

My friends and I were hunting for the Mexican restaurants but failed, so we found this by luck. The food was excellent and dessert was beautiful. It is set out to be a very elegant place for drinks and elegant food. Waiters are really polite and professional. I’d give it a thumb up and go back and chill with my friends anytime!

I had to eat my words about this place. I had a nice glass of wine last week and perused the menu, which I didn’t find to my liking. By hook or by crook I went there for dinner last night and I must report that it’s pretty good.
I chose the chicken with brie and bacon (or was it Pancetta) and my friend had rack of lamb. Both were excellent meals.
I would give this place four stars. My only complaint was that the breads platter was puny and pretty ordinary. I expect a little more bread that that guys.
