Five stars for being the only cafe open in Havelock North on New Years day.

Good honest cafe food and coffee served with a smile. As they were really busy I think they were starting to run out of a few things but my eggs on toast hit the spot.

Might head back when they have their full menu running.

There was a big buzz in Havelock that the “Olivwe Tree” was back! We visited and all was great with the service – the lady there even remebered my order from another cafe, but the food looked and was very average. I am sorry lady who remembered my Long black but from what we have heard now the OLive Tree isn’t worth a trip back.

Very exciting to see the Olive Tree has it’s orginal name back. My mother and i visted on the 30th may 2011 and really enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff and the friendly chef. We had a beautiful lemon yoghurt cake with a sugary type citrus peel on top. Food looked great really impressed. We returned a second time on the queens birthday and felt the food didn’t look well presented i.e undercooked and no color.. a very boring cabinet.. this time there was a male chef on that was working seemed quite hassled and angry.. although in saying that the rest of the staff were polite. I realise im not the only person that has thought the same. Hopefully the owners are consist like the previous ones were.
