Brunch at Oliver’s February 21st, corn fritters fantastic, service excellent, view awesome. Thank you.
Purchased Chilli sauce for a ‘discerning’ son-in-law and grand-daughter – didn’t listen, splashed it on – and nearly exploded! They now say it was great but use more discretion with application.
The coffin-shaped packaging not to be ignored.

Great food, generous portions. Delicious coffee frappe. Great location. And it was fab to have live music too. It satisfied my hunger after walking the Te Ara Tahuna estuary7.5km walkway.

Food was great. A bit on the expensive side but at least the quality of food is high. The hot chocolate was really nice too. I had French toast n it was delicious. Also the cakes on display looks real yum. Will definitely try it when I go back there. :-D

Went here for breakfast yesterday not only was it amazingly expensive for the amount of food we got, we had to stop at McDonald’s on the way back to the motel because the kids were starving. $9.90 for 1 piece of french toast, a drizzle of maple syrup and a bit of cream, never again. We had to share our breakfast with the kids and still make a stop for more food. Our amazing dinner at a wonderful restaurant in Orewa the night before had cost less than this breakfast and we were all chocka by the time we had finished it.

Fantastic service! I was greeted by cheerful smily staff who sat our table of 6 quickly and took great care of us. The food was great and the coffees were nice and hot! I will defiantly be coming back again.

Great job!

I was also told a new menu was coming soon, cant wait to try it!

Oh what a horrid place…
Staff were almost on another planet and showed no interest in being there.. You would think people would be happy to have a job in this day in age..
Food was average and very slow, coffee even slower and one of the worst coffees I have ever had..

Sorry not much else I can say.. Buyer beware..

Cakes and slices are lovely, but both my husband’s and my coffees were burnt.

Took my Mum here for lunch – her pumpkin soup was inedible (she thought it had tomatoes in it) – how can you go wrong with that? My quiche thingee was dull. On the flipside I have had parsnip cake there which was delicious. There seems to be a lot of staff but no one seems very happy to be there?

I only give it one star because you can’t give zero!

I have stopped by Oliver’s a few times over the past few months but recently it has been utter s**t for lack of better words. I threw my last coffee out it was so yuck and it would not hurt for the gentlemen serving to smile! I won’t be returning, or recommending.

Went to Oliver’s with husband for lunch. Had the corn fritters – what a disappointment… The fritters were dry and tasteless. Luckily there was bacon on the plate to save the day and add some saltiness to make them edible. And for the stack there was not enough sour cream or relish. The coffee was average, but who wants an average coffee when coffee prices are rising up quicker than the price of petrol?? Service is very average and smiles are hard to come by with.
I’d say that the only wow thing that Oliver’s going for them is their OUTDOOR seating and their mini slice nut brownie that is being served with their coffee (unfortunately, they do not want to sell it by itself!)
I visited Oliver’s twice – first and last time. Sorry, I’d rather spend my $40 lunch somewhere else…

Food was quite awful. We had the big breakfast, the bacon was dry and burnt and the poached eggs were hard boiled, terrible. The sausages were dry and pre cooked… for the price i would expect a whole lot better quality. We actually dined at olivers at an earlier date and the food was ok but things have really gone downhill. And the service has a lot to be desired also the coffee needs a lot of work…robyn the owner made our coffee and i would have expected a good brew but not so today…Sorry olivers you have lost me i will be going to mosaic from now on

It started off being greeted by a friendly and happy blonde haired young man (not the one with dread locks, he looked grumpy and didn’t really want to be there).

Happy to take our order for two egg Benedict and coffee’s.

Coffee’s and meals turned up promptly with a good amount of hollandaise sauce and product on the plate.

While chowing down our meals I was impressed with the customer service given by another young staff member to some other customers wishing to change
table.

Will be back again for sure and hopefully dreadlock guy is happier and more engaged with customers.

I thoroughly enjoyed the berry and yogurt muffin – it was divine. However, my flat white coffee was very watery and tasteless, despite being presented beautifully.

I have never had a bad experience with Oliver’s. The staff are youthful and happy to help and the coffee is simply superb. The prices are very reasonable, and the young lad and the owner make some of the best coffees I have ever had.

See you soon for my latte!

We visited Olivers 9.30am Saturday 10th July. Very funky cafe, vibrant young staff, lots of customers… unfortunately our takeaway drinks left us extremely disappointed. Our order of 1 hot choc & 2 vanilla latte cost $13.60… hot choc served in large cup, vanilla latte served in small? Coffee was also burnt, so much so that we couldn’t drink it.

Had lunch there on Wednesday the 30th of June 2010. The place was busy. The staff were friendly and the service good. The food was tasty and good value for money. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to eat in Orewa.

Olivers has the most welcoming staff in Orewa. The food is great and the coffee always hot and well presented. It would be difficult to match the hospitality and food anywhere in the area.

Olivers has all the boxes ticked for a great cafe, location on the beach, provides a chilled out funky atmosphere.
Great food with talented baristas, Olivers stands out from the rest in a competitive industry.
