We are slow food advocates – meaning the food doesn’t come out of a packet or tin, but is prepared with pleasure, and consumed with friends, the way it is meant to be.
We are open for bookings only & the set menu is decided upon & prepared on the day according to the weather & the whim of the cook.
Dinner is $50 p.p. for 4 courses served buffet style
Lunch is $22.50 for 1 course, $30 for 2 courses.
We adjoin Maungatautari Ecological Reserve, ( see www.maungatrust.org) with beautiful rural views & 3-plus star qualmark rated accommodation as well.Great walking & cycling make it a great place to go with friends/family for good food on a day out or a whole fun-filled weekend.

Ideal please to take the wife or girl friend, with nice walk in the Maungatautari bush reserve then a lovely meal and even a bed for the night if you like. Also good for birthday parties.
The atmosphere and style of dinning is very relaxed. Did I mention the food!!! So good I spent 2 months in Thailand and had some really good tasty food there and Out in the Styx is the only restaurant where I have had food that tastes as good
