We stop here regularly from time to time for coffee and counter food.
We have always got a very good to great coffee here. Great consistency.
The cabinet food is usually good.
The atmosphere and ambience is great.
Our only challenge has been sometimes the muffins listed as having certain things inside can be a little thin on those additional bits.

The first time I went to this place about a year ago, I thought the food and service was great but I was disappointed this time.
The waitress couldn’t speak very good English and when my sister asked for a different type of toast she was just looked at blankly until my sister told her not to worry about. She is also pregnant and was disappointed when her sausages were under cooked and therefore inedible.
I ordered the eggs benedict with well done bacon. The bacon was under done by normal standards and the portion size seemed rather small (one small split muffin only).
They were fairly popular so perhaps some of their other food is better but we certainly won’t be back.

Service is friendly but disjointed and lacks communication between the staff. The satay wrap was small and reminiscent of bad service station food. The vege and feta panini was ok. The chocolate and prune cake was very yummy though.
Went there because we saw the ad outside saying that it’s a NZ herald award-winning cafe, unfortunately it’s not quite matching the ad and the food there were very disappointing. We ordered a slice of blueberry sponge cake and it was inedible because the filling of the cake was made of preserved blueberries and way too sweet. They used the same brand of coffee bean as I use at home but the coffee there was not as good as coffee coming from my home espresso machine. I was gonna say their prices are average, but taking the quality of food into consideration, they’re overpriced. Luckily for this cafe, it’s totally saved by its location and decoration.
I have visited this cafe often. I usually enjoy their good coffee and occasionally eat from their cabinet. Average prices. Not exceptional food but they do provide comfortable environment.

Do yourself a favour and cook breakfast at home. This place is terribly overpriced and the food was appalling, from the breakfast menu. We eat breakfast out at least 3 times per week, and I can honestly say this is the worst I’ve ever had. “hash browns, crispy bacon and guacomole with oven dried tomato and Turkish bread” was packet guacomole which was not fresh, a grilled tomato (cold) and 3 pieces of bacon. Oh, and can’t forget the 3 warmed, greasy not crispy, supermarket type triangle hash browns. For $17.90. The cabinet food looked good, but we wont go back. It is a real shame because it is such a pretty setting, and the coffee was fine.

Went to have a nice Sunday brunch with my partner and his mother. The whole experience was a major let down. The coffee order was messed up. We then waited more than 50 minutes with still no sign of our breakfast to be served. We made 2 enquiries with regards to when the breakfast would be served, during the wait and we received no information or apology from the waiter and restaurant staff. As of the poor (non existant) service we demanded a refund. Will never return to this cafe! They don’t seem to care to communicate to their customers.
We were about to go to this cafe about a year ago…
Unfortunately we never made it to the cafe after being abused by the owner of the Palmers Garden centre for driving too close to her Mercedes as she sat blocking the entrance talking to someone and ignoring our waiting car.
We did go inside to check if she was the owner (after she told us she was) and the staff confirmed she was indeed the owner and treated the staff the same way. They were not surprised after I relayed what had happened.
