Unfortunately I have to agree with eatingoutallthetime. Very similar experience. Not a good place at all. Terrible food and service. I think this place is only busy due to limited competition and choice. Try Beach House at Riverton – much better dining experience.

Eatingoutallthetime must never had tried the pavilion, I have hound the food absolutely wonderful and coming from Australia I have dined in the best restaurants in Australia. Now the pavilion definitely holds up to the high standard that I am used to. The service was excellent and was blown away by the friendliness of Julie and her staff. I most certainly will be back next year.

Triple AAA rating. Appalling, Atrocious, Aggressive.
Appalling service and manners.
Atrocious food.
Aggressive owner – Julie Guise.

I’ve heard how you recently treated my friends dining at The Pavilion and I’m disgusted to say the least. They are just way too polite to post something on here so I will do it for them.

I have recently dined myself at HMS Kings – your other restaurant. I ignored the rumours of how bad it has become. The only reason I went with 5 others was that all the other restaurants were full and Kings was the only one with tables available. (Point to note – avoid restaurants that are empty when others are full!) Our dining experience was the pits! 6 people walked out agreeing to never go again.

Now I hear you are racist towards people, unable to handle slight criticism about your food and service and take over 1.5 hours to deliver an entree? Was it really worth causing a scene in the restaurant. Pressure obviously too much, even though restaurant pretty empty?

Shame on you. You made a big mistake. At least you are consistent – both your places are shocking! AVOID.

Had to rate one star to put this on here. My rating is zero.

Love to head out here one a Sunday for Lunch and it is always lovely. We always start with the Sour Dour, blue cheese and bacon; divine! Meals are a good size for going 2 course and not being stuffed for the drive home. Service can be a bit spasmodic when they are busy but hey can’t we all! and it is always friendly.

We had planned to meet friends and relatives on our trip home to Southland. I had contacted Julie to book before we left Sydney. We had a wonderful afternoon. The food was excellent, a good wine list and unobtrusive service. Everyone in our group of ten enjoyed themselves and the meal immensely, even the coffee was good. The decor is more on the functional side but it is not a problem when there is real substance to the place. With the food and the view there is real value for money.

Dined for lunch on a weekday and restaurant was reasonably busy with only one waitress, who handled seating diners, taking orders and delivering meals with ease. Food was to die for – compliments to the chef. The ambiance of the restaurant and surroundings was breath-taking. Will definitely be back again!
