This is my fav cafe in Taupo..Soooo lovely and so fresh..Lots of variety and friendly staff..I always have something different and its always yum..Great prices too..I often take clients from my work and nothing is ever a problem.

Excellent! We were greeted in a warm friendly manner where the menu was explained and we were shown cabinet food. This is a quiet cafe, no blaring music just a low him of other conversations. The food was excellent and really reasonably priced. The service was excellent. We will be back.

Four of us went for breakfast this morning.
Prices on the higher side but worth it.
Big portions, two of us couldn’t finish.
Excellent coffee, the best in Taupo. Always consistently good.

WOW!! Went here for the first time on Saturday with 4 adults and a baby. The staff are awesome especially the front man. We found the service was excellent, the food and coffees were awesome and reasonably priced. It was very modern decor and together with the quality food was a real treat! We went there at 1pm and they were very busy but we got our coffees all at the same time and all within 5 minutes of ordering!! Amazing!! They were also very friendly and accommodating with me having my baby there, so many cafes give you dirty looks if your baby makes any kind of noise. At Piccolos they acknowledged my baby in a very positive way and I would fully recommend this place to anyone.
The only thing they could change is not reading back your order quite so loudly that everyone can hear But that is very minor

Credit where credit’s due. This place is excellent! I ordered a coffee, steak and cheese and a scone to go. I was asked if i wanted the pie heated (very courteous staff) and said yes before visiting the loo. Got back in my camper to find the pie on a plate with a delightful relish and salad. The coffee and scone were pretty damned good too. Highly recommended. Excellent value. Not surprising this place has won awards – the bar has definitely been raised.

We had a night away in Taupo, had brunch here at Piccolo after a bad experience elsewhere and this by far was one of the best experiences we have had. Fast friendly service, coffee perfect, the atmosphere was very comfortable and looked astounding. Would be amazing for evenings. The food very exciting and fresh looking. We could have sat here all day but unfortunately had to go home. Awesome work keep up the good work guys this is what hospitality is about! Cant wait to be back!

Guys ! Why spoil a good lunch by charging extra for a small jug of milk to go with our Long Blacks ! and loose a $30 lunch sale !
We came and ordered 2 long blacks’ sat outside and started pouring over the lunch menu options, when our coffees arrived I asked for some milk for the long blacks, and was informed that “we charge extra for milk” ! You what I asked !
Come on Piccolo we purchased 2 long blacks, grab a couple of menus and sat outside to consider our lunch order, however after being told by the waitress that I needed to pay extra milk, we drank our coffee and left in disgust, and enjoyed lunch at another cafe !

Very much recommended, great friendly, helpful staff. And the best breakfast i have had in a long time!!!!

After a bad lunch the day before at different Cafe (see other reviews) We thought we would visit Piccolo because it had great reviews. We were not disappointed in the slightest. The customer service was fast and super friendly, we had our perfect coffees served 2 mins after we sat down, and two mins after that our meals and the lemon meringue pie was spot on.

This I feel will become the one and only Cafe that we frequent when we are in Taupo in the future. Just a shame you do not open nights

Great food and hot drinks. Service very fast and friendly. Had the Risotto Balls and Salad, was delicious and light. Love the interior! Would recommend and will be back.

Great place to go on a cold Taupo morning,always warm & toasty inside. I go to Taupo every May & always call in here for breakfast at least once. Coffee is flawless & the staff are super friendly & welcoming & very attentive. Cabinet is always full & everything looks very tasty. See you in May!

So delicious, staff friendly, food super fast, and nice bathrooms, the fries are great also. One of the best cafes Ive been to. On the expensive side and could provide the Sunday papers for diners to linger over, but still, I will over look these things for the delicious food and great service.

Best cafe I have been to! The staff are amazing, and the food is incredible. Everything is done with utmost perfection. Piccolo really take pride in what they do and it shines through in quality every time.
I took my family here for the first time last weekend and they are still raving about it a week later. Piccolo is a vital stop in Taupo! Cheers guys!

The best professional service in Taupo! The staff here are greatly efficient with noticeable enthusiasm toward their service. A creative breakfast menu with good options if you feel like something a little different. Quite highly priced meals however, are balanced with well priced cabinet food options.

Very good coffee the only place in the last dozen coffees where a Cappuccino was not a flat white with chocolate and a bonus it was hot also.
Great selection of cabinet food to eat inside or if you prefer the outdoors some exquisite outdoor seating.
You can nicely top this off with a classy wine from the desire able selection.
