I am very reluctant to have to write this review, as I have enjoyed a few dishes from this restaurant on a number of occasions, and it was a favourite……until Tuesday night!!!! We had a friend come over from Australia, and we thought we’d give him a night to remember to showcase our very talented Thai cuisine. This failed us!!! The soup we ordered tasted watery, and the seafood in it was very rubbery, like seafood in boiled water……yuck!!! It kind of ruined the rest of the meal.
Always amazing!!! No. 18 with beef and an iced coffee please
. Staff are always so friendly and helpful. Premises are always clean and tidy.
Eat there at least once a week!!
Husband who doesn’t really like anything other than steak and roast also loves it!
Will continue to eat there again and again and again

Nice food, nice service. But hardly authentic Thai.
Yes, I’d go back, but there are better Thai restaurants. Pimarn is the sort of place to take people who would like to be adventurous in their eating, but not really into the real thing.

This is the best place to eat, in Whangarei, great service and awesome meals, the service is very attentive.
Beautiful healty meal out, also good for take aways.
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting the best meal in town.

Lovely food which was beautifully presented. My husband and I didn’t want to leave we enjoyed our evening so much. The staff were attentive but did not hound us. The prices were reasonable and portions filling. Yum.
Had my 18th birthday hear with 35 people the restaurant was also busy around us the waiters were all so friendly and just seemed top b in the right place at the right time had all positive comments from all my guests both young and old they made my birthday one to remember with almost all the restaurant singing happy birthday to me prices were very reasonable an service was fast for the amount of people in the restaurant very enjoyable

I often get takeaways from here but have also dined in often. The food is consistently good, and plentiful (one takeaway order is enough for dinner and lunch the next day). The staff are very attentive when you’re eating in. My favourite is the Pad Thai – one of the best things about this place is that you can order any dish and then choose the meat you want (chicken, beef, or prawns) which gives you the choice of the whole menu if there’s only a certain type of meat you like. Their spring rolls (starter) are fantastic. It can get very busy so if you want to dine in on a Thurs, Fri, or Sat you should definitely book.

My husband and I eat here often- the food is always amazing, the service fast and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We often eat here for lunch – value for money it’s far nicer and far cheaper than your local burger fast food place for lunch! Not to mention healthier. We have yet to find a Thai restaurant anywhere with better food – and trust me, we have eaten in quite a few major cities in NZ and OZ. This place is well worth a visit if you love authentic Thai food. Bookings are essential towards the end of the week particularly…

Have been here on a number of occasions for both lunch and dinner and every visit has been impressive. Friendly service, delicious sizable meals and well worth coming back to every time!

Our favourite Thai restaurant in Whangarei. The food and service are great however the portion size is a little smaller than other Thai restaurants I have frequented… or is it just that I want more because it is so YUM!

An absolutely great experience, we have been regulars for many years and the excellent standards are always tops.
Staff are a great bunch with ever smiling courteous service.
Food is always delicious and plentiful.
Never have we seen the place empty and have felt very sorry for those turned away because they did not book.
A top Whangarei Restaurant for sure with standards matching the upper class venues.

Love the food service and atmosphere at this place, have been several times and could never fault it. Keep up the great work!

Nice looking restaurant always looks busy, but huge let down on the food, went there twice (in case the first time was just a muck up) and the red curry still tasted like it came out of a can.

As per the other reviews, the waitresses are absolute darlings, couldn’t fault them. The cost was also very good. Sadly the food left a lot to be desired. I think its called bastardised Thai.
the food is great, fresh & tasty(every single time), arrives quickly and the staff are friendly & accommodating. also the restaurant is really clean. the staff and service are great if there is just 2 of you or if there is a group of 20+. even with young children in high chairs they are great. Pimarn is our favourite restaurant in whangarei.
We choose the Pimarn Thai Restaurant for a surprise dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Having driven north from Papakura, and dropped right at the door by Kiwi Cabs of Whangarei, we were greeted at the door and shown to our reserved table. The service that followed was excellent, with very helpful and polite staff, and best of all the meal was out standing! Five of us all had different meals and all of us were unanimous in our praise. Great place – we will certainly be back!

Very very good. We had my son’s 21st birthday (family) dinner here. Even with a 10 and 12 year old we had a wonderful time. Food excellent, lovely atmosphere. Don’t hesitate! You won’t regret it! Prices were good as well.

We just keep coming back to this treasure. Fab food, very consistant. Top service from all the lovely Thai ladies – although the gentleman waiter is very casual and surly I have to say. Value for money every time.
We have been to this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed it-the service is friendly and efficient and we have never had to wait long for our meals which are delicious and very good value. We have taken our kids there since they were about 2 so do not see why it is rated not for children, they had highchairs and put mats down and my girls think the waitresses look lovley!
