Have frequented Pizzeria Napoli many times since it opened in what was previously Kennys Cafe, the classic late night haunt, and have to say it is my favourite Italian joint in the city. The staff treat you as family, very friendly and create a relaxed atmosphere even though the restaurant is very small. And the food is fantastic, the woodfire pizzas are great and the pasta is also top notch!
Would recommend for small groups or couples for a great Italian meal.

When visiting Wellington primarily to watch the Phoenix play on Auckland anniversary weekend my wife and I decided to have a Pizza meal on the Sun’ evening. Quite by chance we came upon the Pizzeria Napoli and by luck there was a table vacant. Greeted by the cheerful waiting staff we were seated and looked after in the most pleasant manner. It just happened to be our 37th Wedding anniversary and when one of the part owners found this out he was straight off to shout us a delightful Lemmoncelo (I hope I spelled that right). Of course the conversation got onto Soccer because as it happens the other part owner used to play for the All Whites. Reluctantly I was “dragged” away so as the rest of the customers could be served LOL.
This definitely is a must visit place when we are next in Wellington. Food fantastic, atmosphere very friendly.
Top notch. Regards Ken Underwood

Eight of us had a very enjoyable meal out at Pizzeria Napoli. Friendly, helpful staff created a happy atmosphere. The food was delicious; the desserts a real treat. As with most restaurant food, it was a bit too salty for those of us who cook with little or no salt at home, and the salads were dressed with a lot of oil. Our various special requests were all cheerfully accommodated by the staff. These included some vegan meals, a vegan, gluten-free meal, and extra vegetables with one meal. The special requests all incurred an extra fee; our party of eight spent $34 per person for three entrées, eight mains and five desserts.

My husband and I been to many places around the world, but this buzzing little place pizzeria Napoli on Courtenay place is exceptional, we have a 3 year old daughter, the staff were really friendly the food was excellent I had the positano my husband had the garibaldi and Jess had a pasta made special for her just with delicious tomato sauce and penne pasta, she also loved the calamari which we started off and the arancini, I can’t stop thinking of the place. Highly recommended the waiter maybe even the manager kept playing with our child, although he was very busy directing the staff and talking other customers. Smiles were everywhere. Exceptional

Totally disgusted by the way we were treated here. Myself my partner and 3 friends from overseas wanted to split the bill and pay for what each of us had ordered separately. The little man behind the counter rudely refused to do this and insisted that the bill be split evenly 5 ways. It really made no difference to them how the bill was split so I tried to argue the toss because myself and my partner and ordered a lot more than the others. The silly little man became angry and threatened ‘to take me outside and teach me a lesson’. As we were leaving he told me ‘You’re lucky you’re with your woman’. It’s astonishing to find idiots like this working front of house in the hospitality industry!
Aside from being threatened with violence by the staff, the food was fairly average. Pizza was ok, but the Tirimasu and the Dessert wine were rubbish. I’ll never be giving my hard earned to these clowns again. Red dog is better or if you’re looking for takeaway pizza pommodoro is in a league of its own

We always visit there as they have the best Italian Pizzaria in town…and Carbonara cooked into perfection, taste really get into the paste, serve with a glass of montelpucino red. Service was great. We will come back again.

These guys have VEGAN cheese available. This stuff is amazing.. to particularly on their unbeatable pizza bases.. Seriously, best pizza i have ever had. We go every week.
Friendly owners/cooks/waiters.. even though I’m pretty sure they all own the business.
It’s fantastic to be recognised straight away and know your meal is always tasty.. and in our case… dairy free

I’ve been to Pizza Napoli twice for dinner. On both occasions, the pizza was delicious. On both occasions, I felt strongly that the presence of my 3 year old son was frowned upon.
However, what irked me most on the most recent occasion was the person – who appeared to be the owner/manager – coming to our table, pointing at his watch and indicating that we had at most 5 to 10 mins left at our table. I understand the there is more than one sitting each evening, but the manner of the delivery was appalling. For this reason, I wont be returning to Pizza Napoli, regardless of how good the pizza is.

Went there as a vegan group 8 of us, we had pre booked and pre arranged the supply of dairy free Cheezly ‘cheese’. Staff were great and service was excellent. The pizzas were delicious of that there is no doubt, but they had very little Cheezly on them so you had to look for it. We all chose a modified version of their Contadino vegetarian pizza. The menu version comes with mozzarella and feta cheese, so we had those removed and replaced with the Cheezly. For that we were charged and extra $5 per pizza – that makes an extra $40 for our group for supplying a little Cheezly. Surely the mozzarella and feta cheese cost money, so where is the credit for not supplying those. Although the pizzas were good I will never be going back while they are charging $26 for a vegan pizza with a little Cheezly on it. FAR FAR too expensive.

Dinner | 6th August 2011 | A lively Italian atmosphere ‘hits’ you when you walk in the door. The staff are fantastic – animated, friendly and attentive. With the aroma of garlic and pizza coming from the kitchen, this great little restaurant was jam-packed with more people coming in the whole time we were there. The maitre de was highly engaged with the clientele and doing a great job. Our pizza was excellent as was the Italian wine. A great job – we will be back!
A peculiarly Italian atmosphere has arisen from the ashes of Kenny’s Diner. The staff are everything you want: animated, friendly and attentive. With the aroma of garlic and pizza coming from the kitchen, this great little restaurant was jam-packed and had a cosy atmosphere. We have a film to go to and they handled our time constraints with ease and professionalism. Oh yeah, and the food is darn tasty too!
What a treat ! You can go there several times a week and you won’t get tired of it !
Super friendly atmosphere with John and Raffaele always keen on socialising with their clientele.
This is the typical warm italian atmosphere you’d get in a little restaurant in Italy and the food is as good as there. The decoration is also a big part of it with really cool wall paintings of an italian market and typical european lanterns to light the all place up.
Watch out for Friday and Saturday nights as this little restaurant is packed and with its popularity increasing week after week, it’s not gonna stop any time soon
Thank god, they’re open at lunch time as well with cool lunch specials !

The gorgeous Italian aroma smells hit you as you enter this quaint new pizza joint on Courtenay. Amazing calzone, pasta and pizza at great lunch special prices. The portions are very generous. The menu is large and it’s difficult to choose as everything looks and sounds great. Nice to see the owner Raffaele mixing with the clients and helping to deliver the food also. Go Pizza Napoli. Definitely coming back!
