Chef forced to work for $50-100 per week. Owner stole passport threatened staff. BOYCOTT!!

This is not acceptable. The owner has been charged. This is not how we operate in NZ and certainly not how we treat people staying in our country. If the owner is an immigrant he should be sent home.

Owner charged for paying chef $50-100 p/w, forcing him to work for 9 months with only 1 day off for Xmas. Held chef’s passport and threatened to fabricate stories of stealing if he left.

This is not on in New Zealand. We are not a third world country.

The service and food was atrocious. I would not recommend anyone to dine here. The quality of food was awful. Looked very stale. Seemed like everything was recycled. I have doubts about their hygiene practices as well. I just went to wash my hands and the state of the bathroom was so disgusting that I had to use a hand sanitizer afterwards as the doors were really dirty!

The curry we ordered was just mixed with water and too much cream with very little vegetables. Not edible at all. Vegetable paratha had no veges but instead stuffed with onions only! Indian tea was made with tea bags with lots of water not much milk. Quality of food is well below standard. I’ve never had such tasteless food anywhere in nz.

After looking at the food presentation, we completely lost our appetite. The staff were very rude, dull, lazy and totally lacked interest in the service. Which obviously reflected the way the food was prepared. We even complained to the manager but we got a very cold response who couldn’t care less. And sounded so stern that it made it seemed like it was our mistake to order that type of curry!!
